Last Night

Last Night David and I were invited to be on a dating board for the Priest/Laurel activity. It was a lot of fun with memories to reminisce about. One of the questions was "what was one of the qualities you looked for in an eternal companion when you were a Priest/Laurel." That one took me a minute to think about because it's been so long since I've thought about that. I always had lists we'd make in Laurel's class of our future husband's qualities. But when I thought of my answer I replied firmly "a return missionary". The Priest Leader put his thumbs up and said with an excited face quietly "YES"! That is what he has been stressing in class to his boys. I guess missions aren't as high a priority to some of them around here. But that was HUGE for me! I wanted to marry a return missionary and I wasn't going to settle for anything else. And I'm glad that I didn't.

When we got back David had a work meeting at a co-workers home. He left around 9 pm and got home at 2:30 am. Poor guy was exhausted this morning when the alarm went off at 6:30!

What a perfect answer :) Haha, you know you're young when filling out those papers and sealing them in an envelope for the future to read felt like yesterday...me :( haha.

What a fun night to spend with the Priest/Laurels and to be reminded of what was important. Isn't it sad how our youth just really don't have the ambition and goals anymore. We are constantly pulling our hair out with our youth. Oh well. Cameron looked super cute for school.

I was just reading all your most recent posts... catching up. I wish we lived closer so we could work out together. Its so fun to work out with the kids at daycare huh? well your washington trip sounds like it was a ton of fun... i'm jelous.

how about I just do them.. And if you love them then whatever you would feel is good really. I just still need to practice. So I would love just the time to do them. And if you are happy with them it would thrill me!!! OF course I am up to 4 kids! LOVE THEM!

Our New Family Pictures

I have been on the hunt for a really good photographer for a long time here and there.  And I think I found one that did everything I wanted.  First, she comes and looks at the feel of your home.  For us I just sent pictures of our living room where I wanted the pictures placed.  Then she suggests colors to wear and sent pictures back with our room and picture placements she puts on the walls.  And with 5 kids, especially Jenna, you really have to photo shop A LOT!!  Almost every photo with Jenna she had to photo shop.  She did amazing!!  I was so nervous when we went over and viewed our pictures at her house.  As David put it after our photo shoot “She has to be a magician to get anything good out of that!  That was a disaster!”  After looking at our proofs I said, “well, you are a magician!”  And David said after leaving and climbing in our car to go home “That was worth every penny.”  Success! How close have you been to a Prophet?

David, and two other guys he works with, were invited to the Jazz game last Friday night. I have come to find out as a construction wife, to get business, you gotta play A LOT ! Here is a short list, not limited to, of what I mean by "play": Golfing (about 3 times a week-depending on the week and in warm weather of course) Snow skiing (about 2 times a week, again this depends on the week and when there's snow) Fancy dinners (this can also be counted as lunch, which happens more than I know I'm sure!) Executive Retreats (this will be happening in February for about 5 days in AZ, which will have all 5 days full of golfing, guaranteed!!) Jazz games (again, when in season) I don't know about you, but I think I'm in the wrong career!! This house wife things just does not include ANY of those benefits!! TRIALS

We have been preparing for over 4 years for this trial. But nothing, no matter how much you knew it could and most likely would happen, can prepare you when your son's doctor tells you now is the time. "Your son needs open heart surgery." August 24th, 2005, Jason was born in Las Vegas, NV. He was perfect and healthy looking in every way. At his 2 week check up the doctor heard a heart murmur and recommended I take him to the cardiologist. I mentioned that I was flying out to WA in a few days and so I'd probably go when I got back, 3 weeks later. The cardiologist doctor called me the next day after visiting with the pediatrician, asking me to go in to have Jason checked out. It was late and he was willing to stay after hours for us to get there. After an ultra sound of his heart (echo) the cardiologist diagnosed Jason with a very small hole in his heart. Nothing that needed to be fixed right away, unless it started causing problems. So Jason started going every 3 month
