Weekend Getaway!

Image
In April David had a convention in Las Vegas.  We met him down there a day after he left and stayed in a Resort in Henderson called the Westin, about 30 mins from the strip.  It was BEAUTIFUL!!!  This resort did not have a casino attached with it and it was very family friendly.  There were 2 pools.  One with a slide that we stayed at the whole time.  It was on a lake also.  We went with our friends, Andy and Kate.  It was so relaxing.  We stayed 3 nights!  The last night we ordered pizza for the kids and left them in the hotel room and went down stairs to the Restaurant.  We had the most AMAZING sushi ever there!  We can’t wait to go back!  Especially Alyssa.  She missed out on so much pool fun with her cast on!

Jason’s Great Brain Report

Image
Jason did a report on the Philippines.  He printed off pictures that David took while in the Philippines to show his class.  He also took a lot of fun souvenirs David has bought and brought back from there while on business.  This was a really fun project for Jason to do!

Hershey Track Meet

Image
Cameron and Melanie both participated in the Hershey Track Meet this year.  They compete with others in their same grade and against 3 or 4 different other schools.  They do this at the high school track and it is so much fun to watch!  We all pack a lunch and plan to spend several hours there depending on when their races are.  They both ran the 200 and 400 meter race.  And they were both happy with how they ran.  They were always in the middle of the pack and that was better than last to them!  Since this was Melanie’s first year she had major anxiety about it.  I think she gets to much of that from me, she is just more vocal about it!  She said things like “what if I stop running in the middle of the race?”  “You said not to sprint at the beginning of the 400, so is this fast enough” while showing me a run slower than a sprint.  Her teacher sent home a list of items that she could take to the meet.  And she had to have EVERYTHING on that list if we had it!  A squirt bottle for if yo

This brings back memories!

Cameron has had a “Hit-A-Way” ball hanging in his closet for 2 years.  Grandma and Grandpa Lee gave it to him for his birthday when he was 9.  We have never set it up because it needs a pole to attach to.  After seeing his desire to be better at baseball I went to Costco and bought the tetherball that they were selling just for the pole!  It has been so great for both Cameron and Jason to go out there and swing at the ball with out needing someone to pitch it to them.  Jason came in after hitting it for hours with a blister on his hand.  He was so distraught when I told him he needed a band-aid because he thought he would have to stop practicing.  He has high hopes to hit a home run this year!  Anyway, it turned in to a 2 for 1 deal because we were out playing tetherball for hours Sunday night!

Jenna is getting so big!

Image
I have to keep reminding myself that this girl keeps growing up, as much as I am pushing back!  David and I were out one night a few weeks ago and we were talking about Jenna’s age and I said she was turning 4 this year and I let out a gasp and said “I still treat her like she is 2!”  She is my sidekick and I am glad that I am keeping her home with me for one more year next year!  She was so excited to go to the store and pick out her new bike.  I had planned to buy her one in the spring because with a December birthday I just couldn’t justify it.  She caught on so quick to it!  And she is the only child that has taken the longest to learn to sleep in her bed all night long.  She still ends up in our room either on the floor or in our bed.  But isn’t she so cute with her own baby next to her!

Cameron turns 11 and Baseball has begun!

My baby boy is growing up!!  Cameron celebrated his birthday during Spring Break.  Lucky for him Grandma and Grandpa Lee were in town so that made it extra fun for him!  We went to a trampoline Park in Orem and celebrated!  This was his year to have a family birthday party.  Chris and Andrea’s family met us there also along with Chuck and Carol.  It was a blast and they loved eating Pizza Pie Café pizza after!  Cameron got quite a few things this year.  It is a big year of boy scouts and baseball time!  He got a new boy scout shirt, book, etc., a sleeping pad for campouts, baseball pants and shoes, squirt guns and a motor scooter.  Grandma and Grandpa Lee gave him a pocket knife and Grandma and Grandpa McGary gave him spending $$.  I think he had a great birthday!   Cameron’s new coach has a batting cage in his backyard and so Cameron went over and practiced on it for an hour one night.  He did not want to stop after 5 rounds of balls.  He has improved SOOOO much since last year.
