Easter 2013

Image
I had carpool last week which meant Tuesday was my day to have these cute girls over for playgroup.  I decided to let them dye eggs and color 2 Easter pictures.  They had fun.  These girls are so fun together and get along really well.  Jenna loves to play with them too! The Easter Bunny found our home last night!  Jenna has been having a hard time going to sleep in her own bed at night.  She is usually roaming the halls, finding excuses not to go to bed and will even fall asleep in the guest bedroom.  Her favorite place is my room though.  She is not picky and will sleep on the floor.  So last night I told her that the Easter Bunny was going to look in her window and if she wasn’t in bed he wasn’t going to give her candy and would only leave her carrots.  Her eyes got real big and she said quickly “Good Night Mom!”  I never heard anything else from her!  Can the Easter Bunny come every night?  The boys got to play their new Wii game on Sunday   Also the night before we were at the ta

Alyssa Got Claim to the First Broken Bone in the Family!

Alyssa has had quite the eventful couple of days last week! She went to the Urgent Care Thursday night for a piece of wood that got stuck in her bum after climbing on the monkey bars in our backyard.  She came inside and said “Mom, I think I have something in my bum.”  I took a peek and WOW!  It was more than just a sliver!  I tried to get it out with tweezers and I couldn’t.  I could feel the end of it a ways up in her skin so I decided the best thing would be to go get it out at the dr. in case of infection.  She walked out happy with a coloring book, crayons, sucker and a token for a toy which she chose a starfish. The next day Alyssa went with a couple of friends to the park with one of the moms.  They weren’t gone long when they came home.  Alyssa was hanging from the monkey bars and fell off onto her arm.  She was in a lot of pain and within 45 mins it had really swollen and gotten hard.  I took her into the dr. this time for an x-ray.  She has a hairline fracture in the bon

Cameron received his Arrow of Light

Cameron got his Webelos and Arrow of Light award last Tuesday.  David has been his Webelos leader all year and it has been WONDERFUL having dad take most of that over for me!  I just had to follow up on a few things.  He is ready to go to 11 year old scouts after Spring Break and Jason will be joining Cub Scouts in August!

Mom, A.K.A. Grandma, Comes to Visit

Image
I am almost 32 and I still need my mom!  I pretty much begged her to come visit me (didn’t take long to convince her).  I needed some mommy time!  She flew in to town the middle of February during President’s weekend.  It was perfect!  I picked her up Saturday morning at the airport and we drove straight to downtown SLC to the “best mall in the country”, City Creek!  We went to breakfast and shopped for a bit and then went to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.  This was the perfect weekend also because I just had finished the 45 days of whole30.  What a way to end it with cheesecake!  David also had me go over to Lululemon and buy a new workout outfit.  I wanted everything in their store!  Such cute stuff!  Then we hit the Fashion Place Mall and finished up our shopping there.  It was just the day I needed!  A girls day out!  The kids were running to the car when we pulled up so excited to see Grandma!  It was a long time for them too since seeing her back in August!  David took them t

Jenna’s drawing

Jenna has become such a good girl while at the gym and I am working out.  There is a play room with a tv and couch and toys but no one is in there watching the kids.  She has gotten used to hanging out in there or sitting on the bench watching me till I get done.  Sometimes she will play games on my phone.  This day she was drawing on the white boards they have there. I asked her what she was drawing.  She went through each of our family members (Lines with heads on top) and the squiggly lines are the stairs we go down.  I loved it!  Can she just stay this age forever?  Today I was walking in to Costco holding her hand and I said “I love you Jenna” and she replied “I love you to mom.”  The other day I was getting her in the van and she wanted to sit in Alyssa’s booster seat and not her carseat.  Last time she did that she unbuckled without me knowing and when I went around a corner she flew to the other side of the van!  So I was talking to her about that and warning her not to unbuc

Haircut!

Image
Cameron took the plunge and cut his hair!  I told him he needed a trim and he really did not want to get one.  When he finally sat down he said he was ready to cut it off!  Okay!  So I did!  When I showed him the cut hair when I first started he was so shocked.  Like he couldn’t believe it was really that long!  He said “Oh ya, I really did need a haircut!”  He is enjoying styling it a different way now.  Like he said “I can grow it out again sometime”.  He looks so much younger with it short!  I didn’t realize how old he looked with long hair!  I love it short though!  My little Missionary!

Girls Night Out and Boys Night Out

Image
I can’t believe I forgot to record this!  We had so much fun!  I promised the girls that during Christmas break we would go get a pedicure.  Well, we were completely bed ridden and confined to the house most of that break.  So it was postponed for a few weeks until we finally went.  It worked out perfect because the boys went to the Monster Truck’s with Dad while I took the girls out.  The boys’ first time to see it!  They really liked the crazy motorcycle riders that performed huge jumps in between the trucks smashing cars.  What a boy night heaven!! The girls and I went to the beauty school in Provo called Marinello.  The girls absolutely LOVED it!  They could not get over how awesome it was!  Alyssa, especially was just “goo goo” over it all.  Have I mentioned she loves fashion and is always painting her nails?  Perfect for her!!  Melanie told the girl working on her “I am so glad that you speak english!  It is so much easier to understand you and talk to you!”  I about died!  She
