Happy Boo to you!!

This was a busy week of Halloween activities! Alyssa was the first to celebrate with her preschool on Tuesday. It was my turn to teach and the girls all came in costume. They had fun. We made ghosts, frosted sugar cookies and they each got to take home a fun halloween bag filled with treats! Wednesday night was the traditional ward Halloween carnival. The kids were so excited that it was FREE and you didn’t need any tickets to play and you could go as MANY times as you wanted! SCORE!!! Jenna was a pumpkin, Alyssa a witch, Jason a Ninja Turtle, Melanie was an Indian girl and Cameron a pirate! Jenna was content in her stroller looking around the whole time! Alyssa and Melanie loved the Beehives to paint their faces. This was the station the Priests were in charge of, so David was here most of the night. They shot at a pumpkin and if they hit it then an unlucky person (they recruited the 11 year olds) got to get a whip cream pie in the face. This was a favorite! They also h

I am going there someday

This month’s Ensign was all about temples. I did the lesson a coupled weeks ago in Family Home Evening and I had all the kids look through the Ensign at all of the beautiful pictures in there. It was fun to see all of the temples from around the world. We found the temple in the Philippines and also an inside picture of our temple, the Oquirrh Mountain. At the end I asked the kids which temple they would like to be married in. Cameron said the Salt Lake and Melanie, Alyssa and Jason said the Oquirrh Mountain. Then I told them the next week I would have a surprise for each of them. This is what I got them. I went to the Distribution Center for the pictures and then over to Michaels for the frames. After I framed them I printed on paper the things they needed to do to enter the temple and taped it to to each of the backs of the frames. They loved them! I hope they will always have a goal to enter the temple. It is my favorite date to go with David here! We especially love

Mr. Clean, Mr. Clean

“Oh my heck!  Oh my gosh!  Are you SERIOUS!?!?!”  That was what I was saying in my head while using these babies today!  If you have used these than you know what I am talking about.  I have never tried out the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers until today.  Last month I went visiting teaching and instead of a normal visit, I asked her if she would like us to help her with something in her home since she was 9 months prego.  She volunteered her floors.  So, I have her to thank for introducing me to these babies on her floor boards!  It was worth the 2 hours of cleaning to get this tip! I have tried scrubbing my walls and floor boards with lots of other things and NOTHING has worked like this.  Take a look for yourself… The inside of my front door:   And my stairs.  You can definitely see where I used the Magic Eraser!  I even cleaned my closet door and walls.  I need to go get more I got so carried away I used all 4!  I think I just found a great new and easy job for my kids to do!

Projects

I got this cute little table at the goodwill while in WA for $9.50.  It is my little project for a couple of days! I also made this sun mirror with Trisha and Becky.  It was a lot of fun, but quite the project.  I have decided that I am WAY to much of a perfectionist for my own good!  I love how it turned out though!  The tutorial is here .  Alise and Heather had made one and I really liked it so I thought I’d give it a try.  I went for the look of the original gold one at the top of her page.  And super cheap with the mirror, sticks, and paint it was around $10.  These 2 things were a pain to bring home though!

Off Track Vacation-Extended

**Thank you everyone for your sweet comments to my previous post.  Sometimes I write things and then the next day I just want to erase everything I wrote because I get embarrassed showing through to much sometimes.  But then I remember that those are real feelings that maybe someday my kids will go through.  So I keep it.  I really do appreciate such positive feedback! David took off to the Philippines on a last minute trip and it really worked out great because 2 days after he took off, the kids went off track from school for 3 weeks.  So after the Primary Program on Sunday, we left Monday morning bright and early at 4 am.  The kids slept the first 3 hours, but I was struggling to keep my eyes peeled!  Maybe to early without a driver to switch off with!  Made the trip go fast and we arrived at my parents at 1:30. I had my week planned and packed with fun things.  Picnic at the park with my sister, SIL’s and their kids, haircut, hair highlighted, visit from my high school friends, di
