It's a 3 Day Weekend!!

Yeah, I'm excited for a 3 day weekend!! It started off great with Alyssa sleeping through the night for the first time since last winter!! I'm weaning her and so the last few nights when she has woken up I've just given her water to drink and put her right back to bed. So hopefully we are on to something here and I will be done nursing SOON! Besides, I have to have her trained by the middle of Sept. when our Relief Society girls (for church) are going on a women's retreat to a cabin over night. So I need her trained so David can handle all 4 by himself over night!! Ha!Ha! (what, a break for mom?) So since I got so much sleep last night I woke up at 5:30 this morning unable to go back to sleep. Since starting the 4th book of the Twilight series I am having dreams of it and it is so, so, SO, annoying!! So I just got up and started reading some more in hopes of finishing it soon! I guess I'm not a fast reader. My friend read this book in 1 1/2 days!!! I'm going on

3 Years Old!!

Jason turned 3 today. Man do these birthday's roll around so fast! It seems like the more kids you get the faster it goes! I knew right away what to get Jason for his b-day. He is really into Power Rangers. We picked up a Power Rangers movie at the library every week this summer. They were the cheesy 30 min. versions, but Jason LOVED them anyway! He opened his presents up before church and we had cake and ice cream this afternoon. When I was wrapping presents with Cameron this morning he saw the power rangers and motorcycle present and was so excited to "play" with it. He said that "brothers are supposed to share, that's what they do". Yeah, and tell that to Cameron on his b-day and he will give you "it's mine" speech! (Looks like they have already eaten cake! They enjoyed helping to make it, therefore they got to lick the spoons and bowl! YUMMY!!) Some of the things that Jason likes to do: -play with balls- soccer, baseball, basketball, foo

Teeth- One Less

Image
Well, the excitement of losing your first tooth has struck our home! Cameron has had a lose tooth, that I noticed 1 month ago, and the anticipation of it coming out has built! Since Sunday it has gotten really lose and I thought for sure it would have come out a couple of days ago. But of course I have to remember that Cameron is super nervous of the unknown. So he really wanted it to come out, but didn't want it to hurt. So he NEVER wiggled it with his finger. He would only let me wiggle it (than ask me "is it looser?") and use his tongue. The last few days though he wouldn't even let me touch it. So tonight as we were gathered together in our front room Cameron was sitting on David's lap and he bumped his mouth on David's chest. The tooth flipped over some how. I don't even understand how it happened, but it was still attatched! Of course it was bleeding some. It took a lot of coaxing and some force to get the tooth out finally by David. Cameron was so

Weekend Recap

We have been busy since Friday! Our ward campout was last weekend and so we went up Friday night and came home on Saturday morning. It was a super quick trip. We drove 2 hours and got up there in time to set up our tent, eat dinner, enjoy a talent show from ward members and then go to sleep. We got up and ate breakfast, took down the tent and left. Was it worth it?! Well, next year, if we go, we will go earlier so the kids can float down the stream, cook s'mores and do all the things that make camping really feel like camping! I'm glad that we went anyway. (This is what we hauled our camping stuff in on. We made it in one load. Others who stayed for more than a night had to make several loads!) Sunday our good friends, Scott and Julie and their girls, came to visit. We hung out a lot at BYU playing late night games with them and other friends. They live in Astoria, Oregon and come down for several weeks in the summer to visit family that lives here. For the last three years t

All about HER!

This post is all about Alyssa! I am having so much FUN with this little girly girl!! She is a huge mama's girl and I just love it! Since she looks the most like David I know that he has a little bit of spoilness for her. She is a cuddler and will just suck her finger. It's too cute not to take out. Alyssa will be 14 months this month and I can't hardly believe it!! My baby will be a toddler soon! All 4 molers are coming in and one is about to poke through. That will be nice for her to use when food is in her mouth. She goes down stairs when she's on them, but she's kind of stuck at the top because she hasn't figured out that she has to turn around to get down. So she will stick out her hands and scream and when I go get her she waves her fingers. It's so cute! Cameron adores her and I have hundreds of pictures of Alyssa on o ur camera, all because of Cameron taking them! Here are a few... I think that she likes it too. She is a great poser! Alyssa is

Tonight I came home from Enrichment night. David was ready to hand over the kids and I was ready for them! It's nice to have a little break for a couple of hours. It gets me energized again. Even though they should have been it bed, it's fun to see them peek their head down the stairs excited to see me home. I love being a mommy!

Baseball

David had his last baseball game last night for the season. They won 12-4 this game and got 2nd in their bracket. He loved it and I think that he's glad it's over. I'm glad it's over. It wasn't that it was that big of a deal, but just one more thing to remember. David would take Cameron to a couple of his late night games that would start at 9:30, too late for the other kids. Cameron liked that. Other times we would usually go and watch. I was mostly in the bathroom taking the kids, helping get drinks and trying to keep them some what corralled during the games. I think that David liked us to be there anyways. Here's a few pictures. Of course I remember the camera on the last game! I really did like to cheer on David and watch him play one of the sports he enjoyed in high school. Football and wrestling just aren't available anymore. He has picked up on golf the last few years and finds a way to work that into his schedule at least once a week! So, until next

Things They Do!

I had to post a few quick things that my kids have done lately that I don't want to forget... Sunday during Sacrament Meeting, Alyssa fell and David took her out. While trying to comfort her he looked down and he had blood all over the shoulder of his white shirt. I guess she bit her lip from the fall. Church is from 11-2 and it's right in the middle of nap time. He took Alyssa home and put her to bed and stayed with her the rest of church. It was a good thing that David's advisor in Deacons quorum had the lesson that day. It was all good. So of course we don't live that far from church, but we always still drive. So when church was out I figured we'd just walk home. Melanie was walking in front of me and she had a dress on that is pretty fitted. So she had one hand on her hip and she just started swinging her little bum from side to side. She new she was strutting it! I really had to hold back the laugh and not comment. I can't let her get too cocky so young!!

What to do?!

Oh boy am I sooooo frustrated right now!!! I have come to dread and even HATE dinner time!! I love my children, but sometimes...!!! I have 1 EXTREMELY PICKY EATER- Cameron. I'm pretty sure that he was born like this. As a baby he never put his hands in his mouth or toys, nothing (And I actually didn't mind that)! When he was 8 months he finally started eating solids and I practically had to force him to eat. He already new what he liked then. ARGGGHHH!! We usually eat dinner before David gets home since he gets home at such random times at night. So I don't have a reinforcer to help out. I also make just about everything from scratch, so it takes a lot longer than throwing a pre-made dinner in the oven. Nothing like making dinner for over an hour and having your son tell you he doesn't like it without even trying it!! Tonight I had it and gave in. He wanted bread with butter on it rather than eat a warm dinner. I just gave in 'cause I couldn't stand it any lon
