Pretending

So I was folding laundry on the couch and between folding and putting the clothes away, this is the conversation I heard between Cameron and Melanie Melanie: "Come on Cameron, let's go get married." Cameron: "Okay, here put your k-nex at our house" (rocking chair) Melanie: "Let's go get married in the temple. You get in here (fake car) and you drive." Pointing up the stairs, "Its on the mountain." A little later in the boys' room Cameron is in there holding a baby, and enters Melanie: Melanie: "pretend she stops crying when I hold her." Cameron: "she's been crying all day!" And a little later: Melanie: "I love my present, David!" Obviously the names got switched the longer they were "married". I have to say that Cameron is a pretty good sport at all of this "playing house". It doesn't happen often but when it does Melanie usually takes over and tells C

Park Day Weather!!

Image
Friday we had beautiful weather and so I told the kids we'd have a picnic at the "castle park" we saw coming home from Cameron's t-ball game the night before. So we called the neighbor to see if her 2 girls would like to go also! They brought along their own picnic basket (easter buckets- that became very important later...) We all had so much fun! The park was just like the "playground of dreams" park in Kennewick, for anyone that knows that one. I couldn't believe that I'd never seen it before. We ate our lunch and the kids had non stop play for almost 2 hours! About 1/2 way through, there was discovered a tire swing! That quickly became the favorite thing to play on and many of the kids were on it for most of the time there! In the video is Cameron (with the back pack), Melanie (in purple) and one of the neighbor girls (in pink). Does this make you sick to watch?: Well I thought that it was so funny, so I decided to video it! The kids of cou

Back in Business

So our laptop has been acting up and got a virus. I would be typing and then all of a sudden random letters would show up followed by a never ending stream of "u's". David got on and re-booted or did something where it actually works good. He is so handy! I can't believe all of the things I'm finding out about David since we have been married. Of course a lot he has learned in the last 7 years, but he picks up on things so quickly. I wish I were as handy as he, but I guess that's where we compliment each other! We have been busy this week and it seems like too much to write, so this is the short version! The kids and I got back from a quick 2 day trip from Rexburg to visit some of my family that was moving up there (Alise's), and we got to see my parents and Colby's family, Aunt Debbie, Jason and his wife and my uncle and aunt,Mark and Eilleen who were bringing their daughter up to BYU-I. I also got to go to dinner with my good friend, Marianne

Finished Project

AFTER: I am so glad that this is done and I am very happy with the way it all turned out. The girls slept in their "new" room for the first time last night. Melanie loves the pink. I'm excited to decorate it also. There are so many cute things out there for girls! Enjoy!!

"Busy-ness" around here

We have been super busy this weekend, but it's been so much fun! I am so excited to post pictures of the girls' room that David has been working on! It looks so AWESOME! I couldn't be happier with the way it's turned out. David finished the trim on the bottom and the styles on the corners yesterday and then came the sanding and finishing of filling nail holes, caulking and more sanding and then cleaning out the room and vacuuming the saw dust to get ready for PAINT! While that was going on, I was cleaning out the saw dust and left over wood in the garage so the van could be parked in there again. Then I took Melanie and Cameron to Home Depot to pick out the pink paint. I was a little nervous. You think you know what color, and then you get there and there are so many different shades to choose from that you forget what you really want. So after that we painted the beadboard and shelf last night white and we couldn't go to bed until we tested out the pink ab

New Modbe Consultant

I have been so excited lately! I have been looking for a new swimsuit for a few months for this summer and after seeing Deborah's slide show of Modbe clothes on her blog and doing some research, I have decided to become a consultant for Modbe! I received my kit with the clothes for people to try on and I LOVE them! The swim suits are so awesome. And they have extra padding in the bra's (which I really like!) and I love the quality of the shirts and jeans. Deborah is helping me out a lot with starting. My first boutique open house is on Tuesday the 22nd of April from 6:30-8:30. If you would like to come, email me at kirasells@mymodbe.com and I will send you an invitation! You can also order from out of state too if you'd like. You can have a sneak peak at my website with all of the fun clothes and swimwear; www.kirasells.mymodbe.com! I am so excited to share modest clothes that people love! So there is my exciting news for the day!

My First Baby

Okay Mikaela, I liked this and so I'm going to do it! Brings back some good memories of all of the firsts for me with being pregnant! 1. Were you married at the time? Of course...for 1 month! 2. What were your reactions? We were both super excited, but not really at all surprised. We wanted a baby right away! 3. How old were you? 20...I know, crazy! I turned 21 a week and a half before he was born 4. How did you find out you were pregnant? Home pregnancy test. I was so nervous to look at it. Neither David nor I wanted to go into the bathroom to look. 5. Who did you tell first? Our parents of course. We couldn't wait, I think we called them that night or something! 6. Did you want to find out the sex? Heck yea! It's all about the planning ! 7. Due date? April 11, 2002 8. Did you deliver early or late? 5 days EARLY!! 9. Did you have morning sickness? Extremely sick! Since we were newly married David was worried about me. He didn't know what

Project Continued!

I wanted to put more pictures up of the girls' room. David wanted me to wait until it was done, but how much fun is that? So I am really excited with how it's turning out! David is working hard. He really loves to be doing this stuff. He wishes he could trim out our whole house. I'm just glad that the kids are able to sleep through the saw, air compressor and nail gun noise in the room next to them! (There is a shelf that juts out a bit on this wall, that's why the height difference is there. There is only a shelf along that wall. The trim on top hasn't been added yet on the shorter bead board.) (David tore down the trim around the door and along the floor and replaced it with new, wider trim. The closet never did have trim and so he put some on that also!) (The window wasn't trimmed out either and so that also got done. The bottom is the unique design by David.) (This is the shelf still in the making.)

Busy, But FUN Weekend

Image
To start off the weekend, Cameron and Melanie went to a friends' b-day party. I dropped them off and then headed down to Provo to watch Rebecca Lee throw the javelin. She did really well, placing 1st. It was surprising to me how small it was for a college meet. Then on Saturday David was gathering up everything to start the big project in Melanie's room. He is putting bead board up the wall 1/2 way. I am so excited. I have wanted it in the girls room ever since Melanie was born. It will look so great when it's all done. Here is the start of it: I have had the girls' room cleared out since Friday and I am ready for the project to be done soon. Alyssa has been sleeping in a play pen and Melanie has been in our bed. I am ready for some better sleep with out being pushed out of my own bed by her! We also enjoyed conference. I really look forward to it and I feel so rejuvenated to do better when it's over. It was a little harder to concentrate with the noise

Rocket Science? No, just Rockets!

So Cameron came home from school on Monday with the homework assignment to build a rocket. The project had many options i.e; paper towel rolls, pop bottles, etc. and suggested that this would be a great project to do with their Dad. When I told Cameron what his homework was for the week he got so excited! On Wednesday I went and bought a large "Sierra Mist" pop to drink so it'd be all ready for the engineers to start it that night. Well Cameron was too excited to wait for Dad to get home from work and decided he knew exactly how to make it all by himself. This is it with the pop still 1/3 full. He took claim of the pop too and was drinking it straight from the bottle. He was nice enough to share with the others (we are not at all concerned about germs in this family!) Can you see the small point at the top? And the yellow pointy paper at the bottom is the fire! Nice touch! Well Cameron got to stay awake a little later to work on the project. When David took of
