Accountability- What Goals Did I Accomplish in 2013?

This has become my favorite part about blogging!  I don’t have to look for that paper I wrote my goals on a year ago, or try to remember what those goals were.  I can look back on my blog and find them in 5 seconds!  It is refreshing and exciting to see what I did do but a little disappointing at what I didn’t put as much effort into.  So what goals did I accomplish in 2013?  1. 45 Days on the Paleo Diet.    ( I did it!  I did it!!  I did it!!!  What a wake up call the kinds of food you put in your mouth affects everything!  Mood, sleep, emotions, etc.  The best thing I have ever done!  I still have a long ways to go and I am still learning a lot.  Thankfully I have a great support system to help me!)   2. Get going on Family History.   (I have started.  I have a long ways to go, a whole lifetime in fact but the classes I took this fall helped catapult me in the right direction.  Right now I am digitizing my journals.  Family History starts with “ME”.)   3. Find ways to get deeper mean

A Day in SLC

Image
Tyson and Becky were in SLC for the weekend so I took the kids up to see their family.  It was Cody’s first time doing baptism’s and they went as a ward.  Becky also had a doctor appt. while they were there.  They had nothing planned for Friday afternoon so that is when I went up.  The kids had a blast catching up with cousins!  We went to the Children’s Museum at the Gateway.  The kids played and played.  Their favorite part was the magic show by Ronald McDonald.  We watched two different shows put on by him.  The 2nd show Kate Lynn got up and was part of the show.  It was hilarious! Then we went and ate dinner at Jason’s Deli.  Then we went back to their hotel and the kids changed into their swimsuits.  They had fun swimming with their cousins.  I had fun catching up with Tyson and Becky.  I hadn’t seen them for 1 1/2 years.  Cousins make the BEST friends!  Glad my kids have so many!!

Jenna is 4!

Jenna is 4 and I can hardly believe where the time has gone?  She is my sidekick and has learned that if she begs long enough at the cash register she will walk away with candy or gum OR I will walk away with a screaming child.  What have I done wrong with the last child?  I guess the last ones really are spoiled! But seriously I just love Jenna!  I cuddle with her a lot and give her kisses all day long.  I say “I love you” all the time because I seriously do!  To her right now I am her favorite too.  I am the only one that can put her to bed and she has to sit on my lap, next to me is not enough, on the couch or at church.  We are also trying really hard now that she is 4, to sleep in her own bed ALL night long.  She had a terrible habit of coming into my room at night and crawling into bed.  Now if I am coherent enough I send her back to her bed reminding her she is 4 and is a big girl now   Last night she said she was scared and she said a quick prayer next to my bed that “Jesus wo

Christmas 2013

Santa came to town!  The kids were over the moon excited when they came downstairs this morning at 7:30!  I heard them come down but I stayed in bed for a couple minutes listening to them ooh and ahh over their findings!  That is one of my favorite parts!!  Santa did not disappoint! Alyssa got Roller Blades as her big gift, along with finger nail polish, a jump rope and a picture of Esther.  Alyssa got from us brown boots, a craft kit that she has already been experimenting with, “Fun with Mouse and Friends” book collection and a bracelet making kit Jenna got exactly what she wanted!  A dream light!  She is hoping now that she has it, she won’t be scared of the dark.  She also got a Doc McStuffins coloring book and markers.  She was the first one to have her stocking dumped out!  Jenna got from us a Lalaloopsy, a Doc McStuffins scooter, play kitchen food, Sandra Boynton books, and a bracelet making kit.  She got slippers and pony from her best friend Devri. Melanie was very surpri

Christmas Eve Party

Chuck and Carol, Chris and Andrea, Megan and Tony and their families came to our house Christmas Eve.  We had plenty of food and fun!  The kids had fun playing with cousins (they are the best friends!).  After dinner the kids opened their presents from Grandma and Grandpa Lee.  They love their traditional pajamas and books!  They feel so special in them!  The girls even got a homemade scarf by Grandma for themselves and one for their American Girl doll! Then we sent the kids down stairs and us adults had a white elephant gift exchange. We said goodbye to Tony and Megan (they went to Megan’s families house) and we got the kids ready for the Nativity and read out of the Bible.  Dillon was our “real” baby Jesus this year.  We are so grateful for this time of year.  Every year I am filled with love and gratitude for our Savior Jesus Christ.  My testimony is deepened and I am in awe at the amount of LOVE He has for each of us!  Merry Christmas!
