Busy, Busy

We have been busier than usual around here lately. I had to print off a November calendar to keep up with this week. When I have more than 1 thing a day planned outside of the house, that's busy for me. Cameron started his first week of wrestling and just loves it. So for an hour, 3 days a week we head across town for that. Jason had an allergy appt. and no surprise he has allergies! That wasn't very fun for him. First they had me take off his shirt and they put about 70 dots with a permanent marker on his back. Then the nurse pulled out her tray and took that many things and scratched a small part of his back where each dot was. Each one went to a different allergen. Jason was a mess screaming. Poor guy. Doctor's haven't been so fun for him lately! Doctor appt. for me, helping in Melanie's class, visiting teaching, primary party for the kids, you get the idea. But the main thing I have been up to that I can't seem to get away from is making stockin

TRIALS

We have been preparing for over 4 years for this trial. But nothing, no matter how much you knew it could and most likely would happen, can prepare you when your son's doctor tells you now is the time. "Your son needs open heart surgery." August 24th, 2005, Jason was born in Las Vegas, NV. He was perfect and healthy looking in every way. At his 2 week check up the doctor heard a heart murmur and recommended I take him to the cardiologist. I mentioned that I was flying out to WA in a few days and so I'd probably go when I got back, 3 weeks later. The cardiologist doctor called me the next day after visiting with the pediatrician, asking me to go in to have Jason checked out. It was late and he was willing to stay after hours for us to get there. After an ultra sound of his heart (echo) the cardiologist diagnosed Jason with a very small hole in his heart. Nothing that needed to be fixed right away, unless it started causing problems. So Jason started going every 3 month

Family Home Evening Game

This is what happens when Dad is in charge of the game for Family Night! David explaining to the kids how to play the game. "Carefully cut off a side of flour with out having the penny on top fall." Okay, that is easy, right? Melanie and Cameron take their turn. I helped Alyssa and the penny fell. So now what? Go get that penny, of course!! Got it!! Round 2: Oops, Cameron made it fall. But not quite sure he wanted to put his face in the flour. Finally he got coaxed into it. Or threatened. "You can't play this game again if you don't go get the penny. That's how you play the game!" It was a nice effort! Dad finally went and got it out! There were many laughs around the table. The kids cracked up when I was the first to put my face in the flour. I don't think they really expected that to happen. Unfortunately the time change has really affected Jason. He fell fast asleep for the night at 6:30 on the couch, totally missing dinner and FHE.

End of October

I have talked a lot about Halloween already. I am glad it is NOVEMBER!! By Oct. 31st I was ready to stop getting in to costume. Melanie had 2 birthday costume parties, we all went to the Robert's craft night, church carnival, school costume parade and then Halloween trick-or-treating. I'm ready to wash the costumes and pack them away for a year! 1 1/2 hours of knocking doors, the kids were able to come away with plenty of loot to last them till next year! I finally finished one of my projects from the super saturday. Just in time for the Thanksgiving decor! Another cousin was born! Becca and Caleb had their little baby boy, Jackson, on Monday the 26th of October. The kids weren't able to go to the hospital so I took them on Friday to see their new cousin before they moved out of town. He is such a cutie, with a good mix of both sides of the family. Alyssa didn't want to hold him at first, and then wouldn't give him up once she did. "My baby!" she wou
