A New Chapter

We are closing a chapter in our life and starting a new one.  The kids won’t notice the change but I will and David most definitely will.  It is exciting and a little scary too.  Friday was David’s last day working at Active Care.  It has been one of the hardest places for David to work at thus far in his career.  We know that when Active Care bought Greenwire 1 1/2 years ago it was meant to be.  We knew they were the answer to our prayers of the direction they needed to go.  We still aren’t sure exactly why it was meant to be and what was to be learned from this experience.  Especially since the last year and a half have been complete hell for David at work.  It is hard for me to completely understand what David went through everyday.  All I can say is that no matter the amount of money your husband is making, if he is not happy at work the money is not worth it. David will be doing his own business again, with equal partners this time, doing something completely different then selli

Melanie’s Easter Dress

Image
Melanie and I took her Easter Dress back she got for Easter and went shopping!  Like I said before, this will be the last time I shop for her dresses!  She absolutely LOVED her Easter dress, as did I, but it was to short coming mid thigh on her.  So we went to three stores and tried on LOTS of dresses.  FINALLY we found this one and it is perfect!  Almost exactly like the one she got for Easter just different colors and longer!  YAY!!  And she loves it!!  We also bought her first bra!  She is turning into a beautiful young woman!

My Heart if FULL!

Image
Jesus is Risen!  Jesus is Risen!  Because of Him, everything is possible.  Because of Him I get to have my body after I die.  Because of Him I can repent and try again, repent and try again and repent and try yet again.  Because of Him I get to be with my family forever…not just until I die.  Because of Him I am reminded DAILY of the many, many blessing I do have.  Because of Him, I am eternally grateful! Today was Cameron’s first day to pass the Sacrament in church.  My heart was bursting looking over at him sitting with the deacons.  Usually I am handing him the hymn book and encouraging him to sing during Sacrament Meeting.  I loved it when I looked over and saw all those boys with books open singing the hymns, without their Mom’s encouragement.  Good examples around him!  He was SUPER nervous but held it in very well, looking confident!  I commented to him before church when he was all dressed up in his suit how much older he looked.  He looks so handsome with his new haircut!  Af

“Y” Mountain

Image
One of the things we decided we wanted to do was hike the “Y” during Spring Break.  We have wanted to do this ever since we moved to Springville.  I remember driving to Springville with the kids the day we moved, pointed out the “Y” on the mountain by BYU and said that we were going to hike that and the kids were so excited!  Here we are 2 1/2 years later finally doing it!  I wanted to wait and do this with David but with his crazy schedule I just decided to make it happen!  We left at 10:30 knowing it was going to be a hot hike since there is NO SHADE and the sun would be out.  And it was hot.  It only got to 60 degrees while we were out but it felt a lot hotter!  The trail was way, WAY steeper than I thought!  And I had NO idea how far it was.  It is over 2 miles all up hill.  The kids all surprised me.  The ones who I thought would whine didn’t whine once!  The ones who I thought would do awesome and love it, well, they had a harder time with it!  Cameron and Alyssa beat us all up t

Jason’s Yearly Appointment

Image
This boy just melts my heart!  He is so brave!!  He had his yearly cardiologist appointment the first day of Spring Break at Primary Children’s hospital.  He is getting better at laying there for over an hour while they do an ultra sound of his heart, getting all different angles and moving him around to get those pictures!  He watched Dispicable Me 2.  They look at the flow of the blood around the hole, make sure there is no damage done to the arteries of the main valves and also look for muscle bundles forming (the reason they were going to do surgery 4 years ago!).  Then we wait while the cardiologist doctor’s review the pictures to see if they need to do any more.  Then we go to another room and get an EKG done and the doctor comes in and tells us the results.  This visit was all great news with nothing new happening.  So we will go back again next year!  The older he gets before he has to have surgery the better!!

Cameron Receives the Aaronic Priesthood

Image
Sunday Cameron received the Aaronic Priesthood in Deacon’s quorum.  It was an exciting day for us!!  Chuck and Carol were able to come up from St. George to participate in this special occasion.  Cameron was really nervous, especially nervous to pass the Sacrament in church.  He has been watching closely the last several months as each of his friends have turned 12 and have been passing the Sacrament.  He will do great though!  He was able to collect Fast Offerings after church which was great for him!  That night he asked for a haircut.  Not quite sure why he did but he was very persistent in asking.  I did not want to give a haircut at 9 pm Sunday night so I told him we would do it in the morning at 7 am.  The next morning he comes down stairs into our room asking what time it was.  It was just minutes before 7 am.  He woke up on his own with no alarm.  He must have REALLY wanted that haircut!  So now he is walking around with a short “missionary” style haircut!

Cameron’s 12th Birthday

Image
Cameron’s birthday was celebrated all weekend long, thanks to Conference landing on the same weekend.  This year Cameron got a friend’s party.  This is the first friend party that we decided not to have it at our house.  Actually I decided.  To much work!  It worked out great because we started the party at 7 pm when David would be home.  Cameron opened his presents and then took off with his friends and Dad to Hangtime Trampoline.  They had a blast jumping, got ice cream on their way home and David dropped them all off on their way home a little before 10 pm.  I stayed home with the kids and watched a movie.  Now that is my kind of party to host!  Cameron invited Zach Jensen, Ethan Martin and Adam Taylor. Cameron also got to go to the Conference Center in SLC to watch the Priesthood session of conference with his Dad and Grandpa Lee!  He got to wear his brand new suit and tie and had a great time I think!  Priesthood session isn’t complete until you finish it with ice cream. March Surprises

Image
Our cousins moved to San Diego California!  We were sad to see them go, leaving only one cousin left in Utah!  Hopefully we can go and visit before this baby comes. We got a few inches of snow that was a surprise to wake up to!  Jenna loved playing in it while the kids were at school.  I liked looking at it from inside.  I was very happy that it didn’t stick or last very long!  We are ready for Spring!!
