Family Weekend

Image
We had family come in to town this last week. Alise came on Wednesday, my parents came late Thursday night, followed by Colby's family and Juan on Saturday. The event, my cousin Allison Floyd's wedding on Saturday. I love getting together with my family. Of course the hecticness of switching rooms and taking turns for the bathroom are always fun! We made delicious food! A trip to Utah is not complete unless Cabela's is in it for my dad! The boys enjoyed the trip together to the "man's store". Grandpa holding Keenan (Alise's), Cameron and Jason Seeing all the animals on the mountain inside the store. A sharp shooter Grandpa and Grandma surprised Melanie with a new kitty to replace the white runaways. They both had a nice "cat nap" together! She is pretty much inseparable when it comes to her kittens and this one she has latched right on to. And she acts like it's her baby with the way she carries and talks to it! We had some piano playin

What a weekend for Melanie

First I'll just say that blogging with out pictures, isn't fun! So sorry for no pictures. Friday while picking up shampoo at the beauty store, Melanie was running around the store (no surprise and VERY annoying.) I told her 2x's to stop running and does she listen? Oh no. So she ran right into the corner of a medal shelf and split her forehead wide open. So scratch the rest of the errands I had and I quickly call David so he can meet me and I called my neighbor to ask if I can drop off Jason and Alyssa at her house while I was at urgent care. We got to the urgent care and I was pulling Melanie out of the car. She did not want to go in. She was screaming and so scared to get stitches. I found out shortly that our new insurance didn't cover that urgent care so back out to the car to go to the urgent care that did. David showed up and luckily when the doctor looked at it she decided to glue it. So no crying and a prize at the end made Melanie even happier! Saturday I took

An Easter Message from an Apostle of the Lord

I love Easter time. I love the time it gives us to look at and examine how we are doing spiritually. I love how I get to reflect on what the Savior has done for me. I love Jesus Christ so much. Tonight for Family Home Evening I gave a lesson on being obedient and being able to return to live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus after we die. I talked about what we do every day by following the prophet with exactness. I told my kids that because David and I were sealed in the temple we would be able to live together with Jesus and Heavenly Father after we die if we were obedient. And it wasn't every one individually, it was a group effort. We want EVERYONE to be with us, Cameron, and Melanie, and Jason and Alyssa and Daddy and Mommy. By the end of the lesson I was really surprised to see Cameron just bawling. Of course I teared up too when I saw that. Cameron has such a tender heart and I see glimpses of it all of the time. I love it when my kids can recognize the spirit and learn fro

One Year Older!

Cameron turned 7 on the 6th of April. Luckily Alise was here visiting and took pictures of the fun day. Finally pictures to share!! This present has been looking Cameron straight in the face for 10 days before he FINALLY got to open it! And was it the longest 10 days of not only Cameron's life but my life also! He was bugging and bugging and begging and begging to open it every day from the time he woke up till the time he got home from school and in to bed. It came in the mail from G & G Lee and Cameron had asked them when they were visiting that he wanted a transformer for his b-day and he JUST KNEW that was what they got him! SURPRISE!!! A TRANSFORMER-of course he loved it! I love to see all of the kids looking while the presents were being opened. So exciting for everyone! This was a real surprise for Cameron. He didn't ask for a Gameboy, but LOVES to play games. They don't sell these anymore, but at the game stores you can buy used ones for a good price

What am I doing AWAKE?!

It's 4:30 am. I have been awake since 3:30, what am I doing awake?!!!! I HATE it when I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep. David was working late and so I fell asleep on the couch at about 10:30. Finally woke up enough to go to bed at 1 am, and then less than 4 hours later I'm awake. When I wake up like this I usually wake up with all kinds of worries running through my mind. First one was that I had put the kids to bed with out brushing their teeth and they had lots of candy from Cameron's b-day party pinata. I was thinking of all the sugar sitting on their teeth. I know, nothing I can do about that in the middle of the night! Next worry? I am worried I am raising a bunch of spoiled kids who don't know how to work! I know, another thing you can't fix in the middle of the night. This is so hard for me though because it's so much easier for me to clean than to involve my kids. Yes, we do the Saturday jobs and all, but I need more c

We Love our Melie!

The other day Melanie asked what was on Cameron's back. I told her that it was a birth mark. She proceeded to ask all of her inquisitive questions of how it got there, why it's there, why it won't go away and so on. Then she got mad and starts going off "Jason has a hole in his heart, Cameron has a birth mark, I don't have ANYTHING!" Not wanting her to feel left out I said, "uh huh, you have a birth mark on your bum!" She didn't like that very much! Today the kids were putting candy into the dinosaur pinata, getting ready for the big party on Monday. Alise made a comment about the dinosaur having a birth mark on it. Melanie asked what a birth mark was and I reminded her- "remember Melanie you have one on your-" Melanie quickly said "don't tell!" She ran upstairs embarrassed. Poor Melanie! I never remember she has a birth mark until she has a bath! David gets home tonight! YIPEE!! Having Alise here will come in handy tonigh
