Weak Stomach?

I took Jason to the doctor yesterday after a week of non-stop runny nose that was a green/yellow color. We got him some antibiotics for his ear and sinus infections. The runny nose has not stopped any less in one day of using the medicine, as usual. This morning during breakfast Jason blew out a HUGE stream of snot to the bottom of his lower lip. Melanie was coming down the stairs and took one look at the snot and she immediately started to gag and then quickly turned the other way to go back up the stairs out of sight. I turned to see Cameron gagging with his head in the garbage can trying to clear his throat! I think we have some weak stomach's around here!!

Melanie's FIRST Boyfriend!!

Melanie received this in the mail today with a letter. She was SO EXCITED!! Dear Melanie, I got this ring for you if you will be my girlfriend. You can let your dad make it smaller to fit your finger. You are a princess and all princesses need a big diamond ring. I hope that your mother isn't jealous that your ring is bigger than hers. Grandma is mad because I didn't get her a big one like yours. She's not smiling now! Love you, Grandpa McGary

Our FUN Ski Date!!

Image
Today was such a wonderful day!! I got David ALL DAY to myself. No cell phones or kids- just us!! Our friends, who are also our neighbors, invited us to go skiing with them at Deer Valley Ski Resort, next to Park City. What a sweet resort!! I was surprised to see no snow boarders when we got there since it is so popular. I later found out it was a "skiers only resort" with no snow boarders allowed. There are a lot of people that go skiing at this resort that are not from UT. It's a very prestigious resort, so I heard. We met a lady riding on one of our many lift rides up the mountain that was from Missouri. She has a house in Park City that they were staying at for a week with a bunch of friends! What a life!! I was SOOO nervous at first and actually wasn't that excited before we left. Driving up to the resort and seeing the lifts, ski lodge and all of the skiers brought back so many memories for me of when my family would go skiing when I was little. I had a great

Last Wrestling Practice

Image
Well I made it through the past 2 months of wrestling practice! I would say it was easy, but it really was such a pain. Of course trying to do anything with 4 kids is hard! The things mommies do to keep their kids active and happy!! And Cameron LOVED it!! After warm ups and stretching, all of the wrestlers got to wrestle in the spot light. They kept score even. I was soooo glad David missed mutual and showed up to watch! Jason also got to participate for free! He loved it, but is still a little young to do the whole wrestling thing yet. Cameron and Jason will do it again next year and Cameron will probably compete in tournaments next year. He's not quite ready this year! So here are some pictures and a couple of videos at the end- Cameron on the left and Jason on the right, stretching. Jason was watching Cameron the whole time making sure he was doing it right. Jason thinks Cameron is an "expert". Stretching out the neck! I love this picture of Cameron helping Jason do ki

How close have you been to a Prophet?

David, and two other guys he works with, were invited to the Jazz game last Friday night. I have come to find out as a construction wife, to get business, you gotta play A LOT ! Here is a short list, not limited to, of what I mean by "play": Golfing (about 3 times a week-depending on the week and in warm weather of course) Snow skiing (about 2 times a week, again this depends on the week and when there's snow) Fancy dinners (this can also be counted as lunch, which happens more than I know I'm sure!) Executive Retreats (this will be happening in February for about 5 days in AZ, which will have all 5 days full of golfing, guaranteed!!) Jazz games (again, when in season) I don't know about you, but I think I'm in the wrong career!! This house wife things just does not include ANY of those benefits!! Anyway, on with the story at the Jazz game... These weren't just ordinary tickets. Where do executives and people in high places sit? Oh yeah,

Gymnastics

Image
Melanie is thrilled to be in gymnastics this year. She is in the class with her friend, Lauren, from our ward. They get along great and have a lot of the same personality. The lady who teaches it has been an instructor for 14 yrs., but teaching out of her home for the last year and a half. She is in our stake and I found out about it by talking with her in the foyer at church. Their church time over laps with ours. She has the whole set up in her basement. Tonight they worked on tumbling, back bends, the bars, trampoline and the beam. It was fun to watch her just love it and look over and wave at me through out the hour lesson. Since it's only 2 streets over from our house (love the convienence of that) this was the only lesson I will go and stay for the whole hour. Everything was way to tempting for my other kids not enrolled in gymnastics. I just wanted to see what she did and how it went. Good job Melanie!! These pictures are bad, but when she's moving all over the place,

Father-Son Time

Both David and I are having SO MUCH FUN with our kids lately. It seems the last 2 months we have realized that both Cameron and Melanie are getting older and are able to, and want to do things we really enjoy. Yesterday was one of those days for David and Cameron. At the Brighton ski resort, ages 6 and under ski for FREE and we decided to take advantage of that and will do so more this winter season! Cameron went skiing for the first time ever yesterday! He LOVED it and David did too. David's co-worker and friend, Sandy, took his son, Anders as well. They each decided to teach their boys to ski yesterday and it worked out well. David mentioned how good both boys did and how fast they caught on to skiing. It's easier to learn when your little and not as scary when the ground isn't as far down when you fall!! I sent the camera with David and this is the one shot he came home with. I will be sending it up with him next time to get more than one picture. I really want a full sh
