Happy Birthday to ME!

Image
What can I say, I got spoiled! I don't think it's fair that my birthday lands around tax return time and David's lands around Christmas! Oh well. Better this way than reversed! HAHA!! We went out Friday night because all of the babysitters would be at the YW General Conference Saturday night. Glad I remembered that before hand. I have forgotten before! David brought me home a dozen roses. It's been a long time since I have gotten flowers! Then we went to the Tuscany Restaurant. Neither of us had been there before. It was recommended to David by a friend. Fantastic food and I think we made up for David's birthday with the price!! Then we headed over to the Cheesecake Factory. Cake did not sound good to me so I thought about cheesecake. Well, the best is at the restaurant. So we took home a whole cheesecake for Saturday. Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake. YUM! The kids loved it too. I bought the smallest one because it is so rich; you can only eat a littl

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

New haircut for Alyssa. I couldn't stand the scraggly hair any longer! Now the front has FINALLY caught up with the back! She also decided it was SUMMER and put on her swimsuit. Don't mind that it's on BACKWARD! She cracks me up! Melanie helped me wash the top of the stove and then played in the soapy water. Friends over to play. It's great to live among so many neighbor girls. After painting the little girls' nails they dressed them up in dresses and did their hair. Unfortunately Brighton and Melanie started fighting, then started hitting and that's where the party ended! Oh the joys of GIRLS!!

(picture taken at 2 months) 2 1/2 month stats Weight: 12 lbs 15 ozs. Height: 23 1/2 inches Head Circumference: 39 cm. I couldn't figure out our scanner, so I just took a picture of the picture from JCPenney's! Jenna is our smallest baby so far. Maybe my wish of having a petite baby has come true!! HaHa!! I had Jenna's appt. scheduled later because of Jason's surgery. Then I was going to reschedule it when that got canceled but since she had a cold I thought I'd just leave it with the later date. Jenna is getting to be a much better baby. For some reason it takes about 2 months for my kids! She is really smiling, especially in the morning when she wakes up. David is just smitten by her. He said he now knows why the youngest in the family is always spoiled! She is already wrapped around his finger!! She loves to cuddle. She likes to fall asleep with her face nuzzled into my neck and only falls asleep that way. I love it too. Remember This?? This is what

Alyssa and St. George Weekend

Image
Alyssa found her long lost glasses buried in the depths of the endless toy box! She was so excited. I then told her to go get dressed we were going to Walmart. This is what she came out in, dressed from head to toe. I REALLY contemplated putting a big pony tail on the side of her head to complete the outfit. But I didn't want to embarrass her (or me) anymore! And yes, we did go to Walmart like this. I tend to pick the battles I fight and if she wants to dress herself it's one less thing for me to do while heading out the door! Wednesday night at midnight I started packing our bags and doing last minute laundry to get ready to go to St. George. David let me know that he WAS going to a convention in Las Vegas Thursday and Friday so I decided it would be funner to go than stick around the house. It was a great break from the mundane tasks at home! Any time we travel on a trip, and it's a week day David is on the phone for most of the drive, still working. This trip w

Fun Weekend and Jenna's Blessing

Image
Alise came down this weekend again. It is always fun to get together with her! She colored and cut my hair and I cut hers too. That is pretty much all that we got accomplished other than preparing and eating meals! But we had so much fun!! Alyssa loved to come and lay by Damon and talk to him. Damon loved it too! Jenna must have known today was her special day. She was such a good girl during pictures that we took before church and slept most all of church. I was really nervous she was going to poop on her dress, spit up on her dress, cry and be fussy or SOMETHING!! But she really was so happy and David did a great job on her blessing! Love my girls!! This is going to be FUN in a few more years!! Oh boy. The family picture. Cameron for some reason was mad Dad made him wear a tie. He always wears a tie so I don't know what the problem was today. When that kid is mad about something, his mind is not easily changed. Jason wasn't happy either. Chuck and Carol drove up

Sock Monkeys

Image
Cameron and Melanie came home from school talking about sock monkeys. Cameron learned about them in his class. They REALLY wanted to make one and so they did jobs around the house to earn some money to buy socks. They were so excited they were willing to and wanted to do any job I told them. They folded clothes, vacuumed the house, cleaned their room, washed windows in the house, swept the front porch and back porch and washed the car windows. By this time I was out of jobs. I was kicking myself for cleaning the bathrooms that day! Oh well!! They had fun making them. As they were stuffing their socks they got bigger as they stretched out. Well that was fine for Cameron but Melanie bought the very long socks that go to the knee. Now we know NOT to buy socks that long. She stopped stuffing after she saw how long the legs were going to be. We all had a good laugh with it!! Her sock monkey looked more like a plucked turkey!! Cameron did finish his and took it to school to s

Student of the Month

Image
Melanie is student of the month for March. She received it for the cooperation award in Kindergarten. She was super excited to get it and she really enjoyed picking out the pictures and decorating her poster that will hang in the school hall for the month. She is like her daddy a lot in the creativity part. They give out the awards at the school assemblies on the first Friday of the month in the morning. So since she is afternoon kindergarten she misses all of the assemblies. So we got to take her and she got to sit in the assembly with another kindergarten class. It was crazy hair day. There were quite a few creative hair styles that day! The funny part is Cameron received this same award last year in 1st grade for cooperation in March!
