Finally 4!!

Image
Jason has reached the ripe old age of 4! He has been waiting for this day for a long time! He was so excited to have a special day just for him. We celebrated on Sunday because David was going to be out of town on Monday and Tuesday. We got home from the family reunion Saturday night at 7:30 and after unloading the car, Cameron, Melanie and I left to Walmart to get presents and a little food for the fridge to last us till Monday. After camping all week and traveling for 11 hours, I looked like quite the gem shopping!! I think Cameron was just as excited. More boy toys to play with! He got these Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from g & g Lee. And these Power Rangers from g & g McGary. He was in heaven will all his new action figures!! I just love this boy so much. He is so shy and quiet at times and just the opposite other times. Every week in Primary he will sit on his teacher's lap. She must love it too because she holds out her arms to him when he walks in. So much...

Has been going on around our house lately. I've been waiting for pictures and will post our adventures when I get some. We went to Wallowa Lake for a McGary family reunion. Before leaving I took Alyssa and Jason to the dr. Both with ear infections and Alyssa had pink eye. I was glad to get them on antibiotics before the trip. Jason turned 4 on the 24th. Cameron got pink eye when we got home. I was glad to see he's gained 3 pounds. He is now up to a whopping 51 lbs! I don't know where that falls on the charts, but it seems pretty small to me! Luckily I haven't seen anywhere that says a certain weight has to be made to be out of a booster seat in the car. Just 8 years old. I will be glad when that day arrives! David took a business trip for 2 days to CA. when we got back from the reunion. Legal stuff is no fun. Alyssa has been attempting potty training. It's not going so well. I REALLY dread potty training. It is no fun and the messes are no fun.
B I N G O Last Sunday the kids and I made bingo chore charts for the kids. I have had a really hard time keeping my kids doing chores, without the nagging AND without the whining!! It makes it easier to do them on my own, which takes FOREVER and wears me out! And what is that teaching them? So I thought that this would be a good incentive for the kids to do jobs and get a small prize when they get a bingo and a fun date with dad when they get a black out. It has been WONDERFUL!! Cameron is so motivated. He is really into the Pokemon cards and so I bought a pack of 10 and he can get a card for each bingo. This morning he had 2 more bingo's before 7 am and the bathroom smelled sparkly clean. The boys have kept their room clean for 4 DAYS and after breakfast this morning Cameron and Jason were fighting over who would do the dishes. Do kids fight over jobs? Not in this house, until this morning!! By Monday Cameron's chart will be all full-25 of them. I know because he
The other day Melanie asked me, "Mom, when am I going to get a step-mom?" I looked at her and said "When I die and daddy gets remarried you will have a new step-mom. Is that what you want?" "NO!!" she said. "Then I guess you won't get a step-mom." I replied

Melanie's First Day of Kindergarten

Image
Melanie had her first day of kindergarten yesterday. She has afternoon and that actually works out so great for her, even though she wants to leave in the morning when Cameron goes to school. I am so excited for Melanie and to see her learn and grow this year. Melanie is such a special girl in our home. I will miss all of her help. She has become quite the good helper this last year. She has really grown up and is such a good example to me in so many ways. She is so understanding and considerate of others. And she is a TALKER!! I will admit, I am going to enjoy 3 hours of a little more quieter time! I told David that Melanie is going to have to marry a good listener. She wears me out mentally!! She will be a great friend at school! Melanie is lucky to be at school with 2 other girls that are her friends. I think that helped her first day to go well knowing she had friends that were with her. This friend is Brighton, she is in the other afternoon kindergarten class. They w
BOY or Girl ??? We had our ultra sound today!! And I am so excited!! I will be buying more hair bows because it's a GIRL!! A bow at the hospital, a baby girl sleeping in the girls' room, girl names to think about...so fun!! We have broken the trend, and I am so okay with that!! Now I just need to make another quilt to match the girls'. It's a good thing I have plenty of time!
