The kids had so much fun trying to guess what the surprise was we have been waiting to tell them!  Let's just say the "surprise" stunned them!  They had NO CLUE!!!  It was really fun! Kids learn of surprise!

Pregnancy and Whole30 (Surprise?!)

I have wanted to write down my pregnancy experience so far, as it has been life changing! I am 11 weeks pregnant, today.  It took me 4 years to decide that "yes, I can do this again. I can mentally and physically have another child. You have to understand that 5 kids in 7.5 years, as fulfilling as they were to me as a mother, they were also very draining; physically, mentally and emotionally and I wanted to make sure I was a good mom to all my kids. I have gotten rid of all my baby stuff, thinking I was "done". But before I decided to get pregnant I kept having this feeling that someone was missing. A feeling I brushed aside for 1 1/2 years! I finally couldn't do it any longer and felt ready. That was the end of October 2013, fast forward to January 1, 2014. Our Crossfit gym had a whole30 challenge, for 45 days. I had done whole30 twice before in 2013, so of course I was up for the challenge, especially after coming off the holiday junk food fest! I was focused on ma

Lazy But Fun Sunday Mornings

Image
Every year I love the time changes for church.  I was especially glad to go from 9 am to 1 pm this year!  I love listening to church music all morning.  Waking up before anyone else is awake and reading my scriptures and the Ensign.  Typing my journals and just enjoying a day that I don’t have much to worry about!  It is great!  This last Sunday morning was especially fun for me as a mom to see everyone playing games.

My Most Favorite Time of the Year

GIRLS WEEKEND!!!  Seriously does it get any better than working out with your sister, eating good food together, sleeping in a hotel and shopping, shopping and MORE shopping?!!  The best tradition we have ever created!  So Alise was the only one to come to Utah this year but that didn’t stop us from having a great weekend!  She flew in on Thursday and we had non stop laughing until Sunday night!  My kids even made this exact comment “Mom, I have not seen you laugh like this in a long time!”  Ok, so that is really sad that my kids would say that but really having your sister in town makes all the worries go away!  It has been quite a few years since Alise has been to Utah so having the kids older was great!  Less whining and more playing! Alise had her first Crossfit workout at the gym I go to.  It also happened to be the Open WOD of 14.3.  Heavy Deadlifts and box jumps for 8 minutes.  Alise was breathing harder than she has ever breathed in a workout and was sore for days from the de

Funnies by Jenna

Image
Jenna has been saying the funniest things lately and I had to record a couple! David left to the Philippines Thursday and all 3 nights he has been gone Jenna has been in bed with me.  It has been a real treat for her!  2 nights she started in my bed and the 3rd night she walked in the middle of the night sometime.  The first night when I said she could sleep with me she was SOOO excited!  She started throwing off pillows and even threw off David’s pillow, leaving only mine on the bed.  I asked what pillow she was going to use.  She said “I am going to sleep on yours!”  Oh, really?  I said “no, this is my pillow.  You have to sleep on Dad’s pillow.”  She said in the cutest voice, “but I want to snuggle!”  Haha!  I am not the snuggling type in bed!  I told her she had to sleep on Dad’s pillow.  So she grabbed it off the floor put it on the bed, almost overlapping my pillow and laid down clear over on my side of the bed right next to me.  So we snuggled   Yesterday at Ream’s Grocery st

Cousins come to visit

Megan Lee got her Endowments taken out last weekend at the Draper Temple.  I had everyone over for dinner the night before.  It was fun for the cousins!  Melanie got to open her birthday gift from Grandma and Grandpa Lee.  We wished we lived close so we could do this more often! Addysin, Jack, Charlie, Melanie, Jenna, Caden, Jason and Cameron

Girls WOD

Image
February 15th our gym threw a girls only workout competition.  It was a partner workout and my friend Jess, who has never done a competition before, asked me to be her partner.  We are evenly matched in our abilities and so we were a good team!  It was so much fun!  We did 2 different workouts.  The first one was 14 movements, 1 minute each.  They were push press, squats, wall balls, burpees, double unders, thrusters, toes to bar, hand release pushups, sumo deadlift high pull, power clean and I can’t remember the other 2.  Then when that was over we did a partner deadlift.  We ended lifting 425 lbs together on one bar!  We got 4th overall and I was happy with that because there were 18 teams!  This picture is all of the girls that competed from our gym.

Melanie Is In The Double Digits!!

Melanie is strutting around as a big 10 year old! Where is the time going? Honestly, I feel like she should be turning 12! She is super responsible and is just as tall as Cameron! The morning of her birthday she woke up to open her presents before school and Dad left to work only to discover she had pink eye! On her birthday! GAHHH! She was heartbroken about it and begged to go to school, to which I replied with a very sad “no”. I was so so sad that she couldn’t hand out her treats to her friends, listen to her name being announced on the speaker to everyone at school that it was her birthday and walk to the principal’s office for a prize. Everyone likes to be recognized on their special day! So when she opened her presents she wasn’t jumping up and down excited! She got her very own sewing machine and a $100 bill shopping money, which she added to her $25 she got from Grandma and Grandpa McGary. She couldn’t wait to go shopping! She ate her special breakfast of sausage and sticky b

Cub Scout Box Car Derby

Image
This year instead of the pinewood derby in Cub Scouts they did a box car derby.  Honestly I was disappointed.  And so was Jason.  Everyone looks forward to the infamous Pinewood derby race!  So I will be honest when the weight of making the box car fell on my shoulders and I had a bad attitude while cutting it out.  Maybe I was feeling the pressure of 2 science fair projects and a medieval project due in the next couple of weeks and one more thing was to much for me!  But in front of Jason I was happy to be doing it for him.  His only request was that it be “fast” and “very decorated”.  He had a lot of fun the night of and had fun making the car his own by putting all the foam stickers on.  Family members was the “pit area” and the boys would have to stop while someone cleaned their windshield (took off their safety glasses and put them back on) and change their tires (take off and put on their shoes) before they could go again.  There were quite a few creative cars there!   Jason ende
