I Can Tell David Has Been Gone A Week!

Today has been one of those days when you just throw up your hands! Really!! It was a good day, busy but good. But man by the end of the day everyone was done! The boys had a father and son's outing last night that they went to with the neighbors. They got home this morning just as I was about to leave to Provo with the girls for Melanie's last dance competition (yippee!). After the competition I dropped off Melanie at the Provo Rec Center for a birthday party. Alyssa's best friend was there too and so we decided to go home and get the girls' swimming suits and go back. I also brought along Jason. Then I decided to plant the flowers I had bought the night before. The girls helped out and I am looking forward to having pretty, bright colors out in my front yard! Of course since I was gone all day the house was a wreck! Seriously I feel like NO ONE knows how to clean up after themselves! So after 30 minutes of hounding to get the disaster cleaned up so I could

Mother’s Day

Image
Sometimes you get a glimpse at how amazingly awesome your kids are!  That was me on Mother’s Day this year.  David left THE DAY BEFORE MOTHER’S DAY!!  How rude!  But that didn’t stop the kids from spoiling me!  I have to admit that the kids have done a lot the past couple years now that they are older.  But this year they had no Dad telling them what to do.  Melanie woke up and made me breakfast!  Crumb Cake, Eggs, strawberries and orange juice.  They all came in to my bedroom bearing gifts that they had made at school or at home.  They are all so thoughtful and it made my mommy heart happy!  I didn’t have to unload or do the dishes because the kids did them!  I did make dinner but that was easy!  We had BBQ steaks and chicken, fruit salad and jell-o that Jenna made.  I made cake for FHE that night and it was just a good day all around!  David didn’t leave me with nothing.  He was feeling terrible he was leaving and missing an important day for me.  So he was super generous and gave

Pregnancy So Far

Image
I don’t mean to be a complainer but this pregnancy thing is over rated!  Maybe because I have done this so many times the excitement of each new thing is gone.  I am really in that “fat” stage.  Nothing is really fitting except for big shirts.  My pants are all to tight and the belly is starting to get in the way at the gym.  BUT other than that I have no complaints.  I have been super blessed with not being sick and still being able to go to the gym and performing well.  The baby has been moving around and I have been able to feel him/her moving a bit.  It will be fun for the kids to feel the baby kicking in my belly in a few more months.  With David being gone to the Philippines I had to move my Ultrasound back a week .  So in 2 weeks we find out if this baby is a “he” or a “she”.  I might be going back and deleting this after the ultrasound if it is not a boy but we are ALL hoping for a boy!  Even the girls want a little brother.  I want no more drama than I already have in the hou

Cameron’s Latest

Cameron used his birthday money from both Grandparents along with some money he had saved to buy this nice chest board.  The one he had before had a few missing pieces and so they were using checker pieces in it’s place.  Cameron and Jason LOVE to play chess and have joined the Chess Club at school on Wednesday’s.  Today is a chess tournament and Cameron WON!!  Jason tied second with another boy.  He lost to his brother but he was really excited that he could say his brother won.  Jason will be the pro in a couple years!  Cameron is not picky with who he plays with.  He is teaching Jenna how to play.  What a good big brother! We took Cameron to the temple for his very first time last Thursday!  It was awesome!!  So glad that Dad was there to help him.  We went out to Cold Stone and got some ice cream afterwards!  I asked him when he wanted to go to the temple again today and suggested we should go on a Thursday again because we were in and out in 30 minutes!  He said “yah that sound

Melanie

Here is what Melanie has been doing the last Month: This is in the dressing room trying on dresses a couple weeks ago.  She put this on and said “this feels really weird”.  Then split her legs and discovered the “dress” was really shorts!  We got a good laugh! Melanie has been in full swing with Hip Hop and going to competitions.  She has her last one Saturday and we are both glad about that!  She really wanted to do Hip Hop and so I let her and she found out she really doesn’t love it and the drama with the girls is just to much.  I am glad she did it because she has gotten over some stage fright but I am also glad she wants to try something else!  Dance is a big commitment!  A couple weekends ago she had a competition in Roy.  More than an hour away and she had 2 performances that were 4 hours apart.  So when she got done with the first we went out to Olive Garden and went shopping!  That was the funnest part of the day we thought! Yesterday the 4th graders put on their yearly U

Alyssa

Here are some fun things that have been happening with Alyssa the last month: She gave her Great Brain Report on Cheetah’s in her class. She performed in the 1st grade talent show with all the kids in the Chinese Immersion.  They danced a Waltz that was just adorable with a partner.  They did so great they were asked to perform in the School’s Talent Show later that week and Dad got to come and watch! Alyssa went on a field trip to BYU’s dinosaur and Rock museum and Thanksgiving Point’s Farm.  She begged me to go with her.  I had not made any plans to go since I hadn’t arranged for anyone to watch Jenna.  Last minute the night before I asked David if Jenna could come with him to work in the morning and then he could drop her off at preschool so I could go with Alyssa.  I was surprised when he said “yes”!  Jenna had a BLAST and LOVED being with Dad at work.  And Alyssa couldn’t wipe her grin off her face she was so glad I came with her.  It was fun to see her with her friends.

Jenna’s First Real Haircut

Image
A few weeks ago I noticed that Jenna had parts of her hair cut when we were eating dinner.  She had the front of her hair up in a high pony tail and I guess it got in the way when she was cutting her paper she had colored?  That is the story she told me anyway!  So instead of trying to make it blend in I just decided to go for the chop!  And since Alyssa had her haircut about a month earlier, it wasn’t a big deal to Jenna if she could look like Alyssa.  I have to say she looks adorable and so grown up with it short and it is WAY easier to comb.  But I will not be doing anything but trimming it for a while.  I love long hair!
