Summer Here We Come!!

Well, it doesn't look like it outside but it is SUMMER!! And we are EXCITED!! We got some fun things planned and I already see this month flying by. Can you believe that the kids had field day in the gym instead of outside because of the weather? Who would of thought we would be tempted to turn the heater on in June? Sounds like they still had a blast on their last day of school. Melanie got out on Thursday and Cameron got out on Friday. Melanie missed her field trip to the zoo on Tuesday because she was still sick, but got to go the last 2 days luckily.Here is Melanie with her teacher, Mrs. Malzer. I thought she was really good for Melanie. I thought that she would be a little more trouble for her teacher at the beginning of the year, but it was actually the exact opposite! I was more than thrilled. And I survived hearing practically every day "I don't want to go in the afternoon, I want to go to school in the morning!" They already know who their teacher is next year and Melanie has heard from other kids that she is mean. I am hoping she will be pleasantly surprised and come to really like her. I am trying to change her mind. I don't want her to start school already scared of her teacher! She really is so excited to start first grade.

Cameron is happy to go in to 3rd grade. I can't believe I will have a kid that old!! He came home from school excited because he got his best friend's phone number. Hopefully he will get to play with him this summer a little bit.

So bring on SUMMER (that would include the weather too)!!

Is it just me or are the teachers getting younger? That is a sign that I am just getting older. Hope your weather turns for the better so you can enjoy your summer. I think ours has finally turned for the better.

Yeah for the end of school! Glad your kids did so well. The weather has been insane and we did turn on our heater. :) Hope you enjoy the summer time!

Our New Family Pictures

I have been on the hunt for a really good photographer for a long time here and there.  And I think I found one that did everything I wanted.  First, she comes and looks at the feel of your home.  For us I just sent pictures of our living room where I wanted the pictures placed.  Then she suggests colors to wear and sent pictures back with our room and picture placements she puts on the walls.  And with 5 kids, especially Jenna, you really have to photo shop A LOT!!  Almost every photo with Jenna she had to photo shop.  She did amazing!!  I was so nervous when we went over and viewed our pictures at her house.  As David put it after our photo shoot “She has to be a magician to get anything good out of that!  That was a disaster!”  After looking at our proofs I said, “well, you are a magician!”  And David said after leaving and climbing in our car to go home “That was worth every penny.”  Success! How close have you been to a Prophet?

David, and two other guys he works with, were invited to the Jazz game last Friday night. I have come to find out as a construction wife, to get business, you gotta play A LOT ! Here is a short list, not limited to, of what I mean by "play": Golfing (about 3 times a week-depending on the week and in warm weather of course) Snow skiing (about 2 times a week, again this depends on the week and when there's snow) Fancy dinners (this can also be counted as lunch, which happens more than I know I'm sure!) Executive Retreats (this will be happening in February for about 5 days in AZ, which will have all 5 days full of golfing, guaranteed!!) Jazz games (again, when in season) I don't know about you, but I think I'm in the wrong career!! This house wife things just does not include ANY of those benefits!! TRIALS

We have been preparing for over 4 years for this trial. But nothing, no matter how much you knew it could and most likely would happen, can prepare you when your son's doctor tells you now is the time. "Your son needs open heart surgery." August 24th, 2005, Jason was born in Las Vegas, NV. He was perfect and healthy looking in every way. At his 2 week check up the doctor heard a heart murmur and recommended I take him to the cardiologist. I mentioned that I was flying out to WA in a few days and so I'd probably go when I got back, 3 weeks later. The cardiologist doctor called me the next day after visiting with the pediatrician, asking me to go in to have Jason checked out. It was late and he was willing to stay after hours for us to get there. After an ultra sound of his heart (echo) the cardiologist diagnosed Jason with a very small hole in his heart. Nothing that needed to be fixed right away, unless it started causing problems. So Jason started going every 3 month
