Father's Day/ Alyssa's 3rd Birthday

Sunday was a fun and busy day for us! Alyssa's birthday fell on Father's Day this year. We are so glad Alyssa is in our home. She makes our home full of laughter and spunk!! She is such a ham and we LOVE her cheesy smile!! She has such a fun personality and I love to see her developing in to such a cute little girl.David got a little spoiled for Father's Day. He took me out for some delicious Sushi on Saturday. Out of my comfort zone, but I let him pick and so he jumped on the chance to get me to eat raw fish!! When I looked at the menu it looked all foreign to me. I let David order. I liked mine better than his choice. It was nice to walk out of the restaurant not totally stuffed like usual though since sushi is so light.

We went over to Costco since we had a little time. They were selling some outdoor gear and really nice down sleeping bags for +0 degree weather. They were 60% off of what they sell at other retail stores. David will be going on lots more camp outs with the scouts and this is something he really needed. Then David went and got a massage. The swagger he was walking when he got home told me he was pretty relaxed!

Alyssa got to have her breakfast in bed with Daddy. It was a fun treat for her. She felt special!
Melanie and Cameron gave their father's day gifts to Dad that they made in school. Of course Dad loved that!
Alyssa has been starring at these presents all week! She was so excited!!
She got a Mermaid Barbie to play with in the bathtub with a Mermaid bathtub toy, some new outfits, shoes and pajamas
A painting book, finger nail polish, lip gloss and a new outfit from G & G McGary.
A decorate your own doll magnetic kit from G & G Lee. I think she loved all of her presents!!
After we dropped off Keenan at the airport when his mom flew in from AZ, we came home and had cake and ice cream. I just LOVE this girl!! We are so lucky to have her in our home!!

I THINK ALYSSA LOOKS SOOO BEAUTIFUL IN THE FIRST PICTURE-well,all of the pictures, but especially in the one with just her a david. Also, funny, but the picure with all the kids on the bed, I didn't realize that your sisters boy was in it and I started counting your kids thinking, "wow, their family is starting to look BIG!" Funny. Anyways, you guys look great! I'm so glad you document so often!

Our New Family Pictures

I have been on the hunt for a really good photographer for a long time here and there.  And I think I found one that did everything I wanted.  First, she comes and looks at the feel of your home.  For us I just sent pictures of our living room where I wanted the pictures placed.  Then she suggests colors to wear and sent pictures back with our room and picture placements she puts on the walls.  And with 5 kids, especially Jenna, you really have to photo shop A LOT!!  Almost every photo with Jenna she had to photo shop.  She did amazing!!  I was so nervous when we went over and viewed our pictures at her house.  As David put it after our photo shoot “She has to be a magician to get anything good out of that!  That was a disaster!”  After looking at our proofs I said, “well, you are a magician!”  And David said after leaving and climbing in our car to go home “That was worth every penny.”  Success! How close have you been to a Prophet?

David, and two other guys he works with, were invited to the Jazz game last Friday night. I have come to find out as a construction wife, to get business, you gotta play A LOT ! Here is a short list, not limited to, of what I mean by "play": Golfing (about 3 times a week-depending on the week and in warm weather of course) Snow skiing (about 2 times a week, again this depends on the week and when there's snow) Fancy dinners (this can also be counted as lunch, which happens more than I know I'm sure!) Executive Retreats (this will be happening in February for about 5 days in AZ, which will have all 5 days full of golfing, guaranteed!!) Jazz games (again, when in season) I don't know about you, but I think I'm in the wrong career!! This house wife things just does not include ANY of those benefits!! TRIALS

We have been preparing for over 4 years for this trial. But nothing, no matter how much you knew it could and most likely would happen, can prepare you when your son's doctor tells you now is the time. "Your son needs open heart surgery." August 24th, 2005, Jason was born in Las Vegas, NV. He was perfect and healthy looking in every way. At his 2 week check up the doctor heard a heart murmur and recommended I take him to the cardiologist. I mentioned that I was flying out to WA in a few days and so I'd probably go when I got back, 3 weeks later. The cardiologist doctor called me the next day after visiting with the pediatrician, asking me to go in to have Jason checked out. It was late and he was willing to stay after hours for us to get there. After an ultra sound of his heart (echo) the cardiologist diagnosed Jason with a very small hole in his heart. Nothing that needed to be fixed right away, unless it started causing problems. So Jason started going every 3 month
