Not Always The Way You Hoped!

David's company is working on a job in Hilo, Hawaii and he went last October to visit the job site. Of course the first time to Hawaii for us both and it's WITHOUT me! So he promised me in January when the job was done, we'd go together. Well, January has come and gone and the job is just about done. (If anyone knows anything about construction-it's NEVER on time!) David left this morning at 5 am to go to the airport-destination, Hilo Hawaii! Of course WITHOUT me! So I'm glad that my parents are coming Saturday and Sunday so I won't be at church alone with 4 kids, like the last time!

David did say that Hawaii didn't sound as much fun anymore. I think he will change his mind though when we do go and we go to a beautiful island and work is not on his mind!!

So that's what I'm up to for the next 4 days, me and the kids hangin' out while my hubby is snorkeling, golfing and, oh yeah...working in Hawaii.

The life of a housewife huh? The boys get to play while the girls stay at home and tend to the kids like every day and night! Thats why I enjoy going to work out. I get to leave without the kids.

just doesn't seem fair does it? but someday when you go for FUN and NOT FOR WORK it will even better. if i know David, it would be hard to truly enjoy a "work vacation" with him and work on the brain!

I have been on the hunt for a really good photographer for a long time here and there.  And I think I found one that did everything I wanted.  First, she comes and looks at the feel of your home.  For us I just sent pictures of our living room where I wanted the pictures placed.  Then she suggests colors to wear and sent pictures back with our room and picture placements she puts on the walls.  And with 5 kids, especially Jenna, you really have to photo shop A LOT!!  Almost every photo with Jenna she had to photo shop.  She did amazing!!  I was so nervous when we went over and viewed our pictures at her house.  As David put it after our photo shoot “She has to be a magician to get anything good out of that!  That was a disaster!”  After looking at our proofs I said, “well, you are a magician!”  And David said after leaving and climbing in our car to go home “That was worth every penny.”  Success! How close have you been to a Prophet?

David, and two other guys he works with, were invited to the Jazz game last Friday night. I have come to find out as a construction wife, to get business, you gotta play A LOT ! Here is a short list, not limited to, of what I mean by "play": Golfing (about 3 times a week-depending on the week and in warm weather of course) Snow skiing (about 2 times a week, again this depends on the week and when there's snow) Fancy dinners (this can also be counted as lunch, which happens more than I know I'm sure!) Executive Retreats (this will be happening in February for about 5 days in AZ, which will have all 5 days full of golfing, guaranteed!!) Jazz games (again, when in season) I don't know about you, but I think I'm in the wrong career!! This house wife things just does not include ANY of those benefits!! TRIALS

We have been preparing for over 4 years for this trial. But nothing, no matter how much you knew it could and most likely would happen, can prepare you when your son's doctor tells you now is the time. "Your son needs open heart surgery." August 24th, 2005, Jason was born in Las Vegas, NV. He was perfect and healthy looking in every way. At his 2 week check up the doctor heard a heart murmur and recommended I take him to the cardiologist. I mentioned that I was flying out to WA in a few days and so I'd probably go when I got back, 3 weeks later. The cardiologist doctor called me the next day after visiting with the pediatrician, asking me to go in to have Jason checked out. It was late and he was willing to stay after hours for us to get there. After an ultra sound of his heart (echo) the cardiologist diagnosed Jason with a very small hole in his heart. Nothing that needed to be fixed right away, unless it started causing problems. So Jason started going every 3 month
