Sunday photo shoot

Melanie put on one of her school outfits today after church and asked me to take pictures. She then started clearing off the table and pulling my honey and wheat bucket over for props. All her poses were her idea. I just shot the picture! When she looked at the pictures of herself she said "I look like a teenager" very proudly! That is right up there with her asking me a couple of weeks ago, "Mom, how do you become famous?" This girl is growing up and maturing WAY to fast!

Then of course the rest of the kids hammed it up for the camera!

Cameron's new BYU hat. This hat was his main "have to have for school" item. He wants to be just like his dad!
And a picture to send to David so he doesn't forget what we look like!! I talked to him 2xs Saturday and also today. He is having a blast in the Philippines! He is there with 2 other guys working with him. They met all their employees in person, saw their office, went to the temple, went site seeing, took 4 little kids that were following them around asking for money to McDonald's, had a karaoke party with their office people, took a boat out to another island, ate juicy delicious mango and getting very little sleep! It sounded like he had just the best day on Saturday. He said it is nothing like he has ever seen before, gorgeous! The other guys are taking photos and video and I can't wait to see them when he gets home! One more week!!

Those pictures crack me up. Yes, she definitely looks like a teenager. She is pretty just like her Mom. Glad David is having such a good time. Next time I'll come watch your kids while you go with him.

I love her Boots! SOO CUTE! She is getting big thats for sure. I remember the first time I met Mel. She was only 2 then. Not you have 3 more baby's lol Love the photos.

ALL of your kids are looking too grown up. And that photo shoot of Melanie, haha. She's so funny. She is totally...like 10 years old! I am coming to St. George this Sunday and won't be leaving until the 15t of August. Caleb will meet Jack and I out there after the first week, but I'm lucky enough to stay for 2. We want to take a road trip to Salt Lake and see you guys! When does David return? Maybe we will do it when he's there and we can all play!

Our New Family Pictures

I have been on the hunt for a really good photographer for a long time here and there.  And I think I found one that did everything I wanted.  First, she comes and looks at the feel of your home.  For us I just sent pictures of our living room where I wanted the pictures placed.  Then she suggests colors to wear and sent pictures back with our room and picture placements she puts on the walls.  And with 5 kids, especially Jenna, you really have to photo shop A LOT!!  Almost every photo with Jenna she had to photo shop.  She did amazing!!  I was so nervous when we went over and viewed our pictures at her house.  As David put it after our photo shoot “She has to be a magician to get anything good out of that!  That was a disaster!”  After looking at our proofs I said, “well, you are a magician!”  And David said after leaving and climbing in our car to go home “That was worth every penny.”  Success! How close have you been to a Prophet?

David, and two other guys he works with, were invited to the Jazz game last Friday night. I have come to find out as a construction wife, to get business, you gotta play A LOT ! Here is a short list, not limited to, of what I mean by "play": Golfing (about 3 times a week-depending on the week and in warm weather of course) Snow skiing (about 2 times a week, again this depends on the week and when there's snow) Fancy dinners (this can also be counted as lunch, which happens more than I know I'm sure!) Executive Retreats (this will be happening in February for about 5 days in AZ, which will have all 5 days full of golfing, guaranteed!!) Jazz games (again, when in season) I don't know about you, but I think I'm in the wrong career!! This house wife things just does not include ANY of those benefits!! TRIALS

We have been preparing for over 4 years for this trial. But nothing, no matter how much you knew it could and most likely would happen, can prepare you when your son's doctor tells you now is the time. "Your son needs open heart surgery." August 24th, 2005, Jason was born in Las Vegas, NV. He was perfect and healthy looking in every way. At his 2 week check up the doctor heard a heart murmur and recommended I take him to the cardiologist. I mentioned that I was flying out to WA in a few days and so I'd probably go when I got back, 3 weeks later. The cardiologist doctor called me the next day after visiting with the pediatrician, asking me to go in to have Jason checked out. It was late and he was willing to stay after hours for us to get there. After an ultra sound of his heart (echo) the cardiologist diagnosed Jason with a very small hole in his heart. Nothing that needed to be fixed right away, unless it started causing problems. So Jason started going every 3 month
