These kind of tags make me feel so vulnerable!! I guess that's what a blog is anyway, right?!


1. I HAVE to have the toilet seats down (and flushed)!! I can't stand it up and open waiting for things to fall in it! This important necessity can be seen after this happened: I was looking everywhere for the lid to the toothpaste the other day when where must I find it? Yes, it had fallen in the toilet and I had to fish it out and throw it away! GROSS!!! Obviously keeping the lid down isn't a high priority on everyone else's list around here.

2. I can have piles build up on my dresser, counter, and desk for weeks and it doesn't bother me. But then one day I will just have the urge to really clean and clear everything off. It will stay clean for maybe a week after which things will pile up and the cycle starts all over again!! So annoying that I don't like to clean all day long!!

3. I am more of a procrastinator than I ever thought I was since being married. I usually wait to the last day and then am running around like a mad women because I waited. This usually happens when we go on trips or someone is coming over. I know the house will be a mess the next day so I wait till the day of to try to scrub the floors, clean the bathrooms, vacuum, pick up toys, have the groceries done, packed, laundry...you get the idea. There are only so many hours in a day!

4. I like to take my shower and get ready for the day AFTER all the cleaning is done around the house. I can't stand to clean when I have good clothes on! So if I get ready before the house is clean (which is usually before 11 AM) then I have a messy house the rest of the day! Which leads to #5...

5. I can't be in the shower longer than 10 mins. and getting to 10 is only if I have to shave my legs!! I think it's because when I was a teenager my Dad would always yell behind the door when I was in the shower "Hurry up, your taking all the hot water!" Thanks, Dad!! And now the reason is because my kids usually walk in while needing something important like the t.v. channel changed or something that obviously can't wait!

6. I like things planned. If I don't know the plans I'm nervous the whole time. I don't like the "unexpected!" I don't go with the flow very well.

7. I'm content to be with just my family. I like being at home and like it when my kids are close by! If you call, you can usually count on me answering it!

Awww Kira, you're such a good sport. I totally here ya on the shower thing. Crazy amazing what moms can accomplish!

Our New Family Pictures

I have been on the hunt for a really good photographer for a long time here and there.  And I think I found one that did everything I wanted.  First, she comes and looks at the feel of your home.  For us I just sent pictures of our living room where I wanted the pictures placed.  Then she suggests colors to wear and sent pictures back with our room and picture placements she puts on the walls.  And with 5 kids, especially Jenna, you really have to photo shop A LOT!!  Almost every photo with Jenna she had to photo shop.  She did amazing!!  I was so nervous when we went over and viewed our pictures at her house.  As David put it after our photo shoot “She has to be a magician to get anything good out of that!  That was a disaster!”  After looking at our proofs I said, “well, you are a magician!”  And David said after leaving and climbing in our car to go home “That was worth every penny.”  Success! How close have you been to a Prophet?

David, and two other guys he works with, were invited to the Jazz game last Friday night. I have come to find out as a construction wife, to get business, you gotta play A LOT ! Here is a short list, not limited to, of what I mean by "play": Golfing (about 3 times a week-depending on the week and in warm weather of course) Snow skiing (about 2 times a week, again this depends on the week and when there's snow) Fancy dinners (this can also be counted as lunch, which happens more than I know I'm sure!) Executive Retreats (this will be happening in February for about 5 days in AZ, which will have all 5 days full of golfing, guaranteed!!) Jazz games (again, when in season) I don't know about you, but I think I'm in the wrong career!! This house wife things just does not include ANY of those benefits!! TRIALS

We have been preparing for over 4 years for this trial. But nothing, no matter how much you knew it could and most likely would happen, can prepare you when your son's doctor tells you now is the time. "Your son needs open heart surgery." August 24th, 2005, Jason was born in Las Vegas, NV. He was perfect and healthy looking in every way. At his 2 week check up the doctor heard a heart murmur and recommended I take him to the cardiologist. I mentioned that I was flying out to WA in a few days and so I'd probably go when I got back, 3 weeks later. The cardiologist doctor called me the next day after visiting with the pediatrician, asking me to go in to have Jason checked out. It was late and he was willing to stay after hours for us to get there. After an ultra sound of his heart (echo) the cardiologist diagnosed Jason with a very small hole in his heart. Nothing that needed to be fixed right away, unless it started causing problems. So Jason started going every 3 month
