The Follow-up Dentist Trip

This morning Cameron and Melanie went in to get their cavities fixed. There IS a reason for no pictures on our blog lately. We bought a really nice camera that was for our Mother's/Father's Day present in May. The next week is when I took the kids in to the dentist to find out it'd cost $1600 to get all the cavities fixed. So after weeks of looking at our camera, I couldn't justify having it while our kids' teeth were rotting. So, back went the camera. It's a good thing Costco has an excellent return policy on their stuff!! So, I am not offended if you think my blog is boring. I think it is boring with no pictures too!!

Back to the story-so Melanie was super worried about getting her cavities filled. When she asked why we took our camera back and I told her it was so we could fix her cavities, she did NOT want that camera to go back! So I was a little nervous for her. I remember when I was little of not letting the dentist fix my cavities, even with the promise of a new bike by my parents if I did! So I really wanted it to go well. Luckily now they have invented laughing gas! Genius!! Cameron went first and was in and out in 20 minutes. They didn't have to numb him or give him any laughing gas. "Easy cheesy", as he put it! Melanie came out with a numb and swollen cheek. She did really good though. They only did one side and will do the other side another time. We walked out with free hamburgers and ice cream coupons at Artic Circle and enjoyed that after swimming lessons. It was a busy morning!

YAH! and need I say more? I can't wait to see everyone! Im on a miss my family kinda deal! So sad i know... haha :( no really im a little homesick.

I have been on the hunt for a really good photographer for a long time here and there.  And I think I found one that did everything I wanted.  First, she comes and looks at the feel of your home.  For us I just sent pictures of our living room where I wanted the pictures placed.  Then she suggests colors to wear and sent pictures back with our room and picture placements she puts on the walls.  And with 5 kids, especially Jenna, you really have to photo shop A LOT!!  Almost every photo with Jenna she had to photo shop.  She did amazing!!  I was so nervous when we went over and viewed our pictures at her house.  As David put it after our photo shoot “She has to be a magician to get anything good out of that!  That was a disaster!”  After looking at our proofs I said, “well, you are a magician!”  And David said after leaving and climbing in our car to go home “That was worth every penny.”  Success! How close have you been to a Prophet?

David, and two other guys he works with, were invited to the Jazz game last Friday night. I have come to find out as a construction wife, to get business, you gotta play A LOT ! Here is a short list, not limited to, of what I mean by "play": Golfing (about 3 times a week-depending on the week and in warm weather of course) Snow skiing (about 2 times a week, again this depends on the week and when there's snow) Fancy dinners (this can also be counted as lunch, which happens more than I know I'm sure!) Executive Retreats (this will be happening in February for about 5 days in AZ, which will have all 5 days full of golfing, guaranteed!!) Jazz games (again, when in season) I don't know about you, but I think I'm in the wrong career!! This house wife things just does not include ANY of those benefits!! TRIALS

We have been preparing for over 4 years for this trial. But nothing, no matter how much you knew it could and most likely would happen, can prepare you when your son's doctor tells you now is the time. "Your son needs open heart surgery." August 24th, 2005, Jason was born in Las Vegas, NV. He was perfect and healthy looking in every way. At his 2 week check up the doctor heard a heart murmur and recommended I take him to the cardiologist. I mentioned that I was flying out to WA in a few days and so I'd probably go when I got back, 3 weeks later. The cardiologist doctor called me the next day after visiting with the pediatrician, asking me to go in to have Jason checked out. It was late and he was willing to stay after hours for us to get there. After an ultra sound of his heart (echo) the cardiologist diagnosed Jason with a very small hole in his heart. Nothing that needed to be fixed right away, unless it started causing problems. So Jason started going every 3 month
