Here we go again; 2013-2014 School Year

The kids had a back to school, meet the teacher the day before school started.  With all of the paper work to fill out in each class it took us 1 1/2 hours to get around to all the classes.  This will be the last year that I will have all my kids in one school.  And then the real crazy will happen!  I took a picture of each of the kids sitting at their assigned desk.  Cameron is definitely at a stage where he is to cool for the camera!  It was like pulling teeth to get him in a picture at home.  And forget trying to get one at school!  Jenna packed her lunch and was so excited to take the kids to school.  She will be my little buddy this year.  She is not doing preschool this year and I am looking forward to having my first year in 4 yrs of not having to pick someone up in the middle of the day.  Alyssa is starting the Chinese Immersion program this year.  She is with Mrs. Shaffer and a new teacher from China.  She has learned to count to 10 and says it really well!  Jason is in 2nd grade, also continuing the Chinese Immersion.  His teacher is Mrs. Slight and Miss Li (also a new teacher this year from China).  Melanie is in 4th grade with Mrs. Williams.  She is a new intern and was the highest recruited intern in the state!  She seems to be excellent and young and fun!  Cameron is in 6th grade with Mrs. Scott.  He was excited about getting her.  They rotate classes during the day so they get to have every 6th grade teacher.  They are preparing them for 7th grade!  It will be a fun year for the kids!

Our New Family Pictures

I have been on the hunt for a really good photographer for a long time here and there.  And I think I found one that did everything I wanted.  First, she comes and looks at the feel of your home.  For us I just sent pictures of our living room where I wanted the pictures placed.  Then she suggests colors to wear and sent pictures back with our room and picture placements she puts on the walls.  And with 5 kids, especially Jenna, you really have to photo shop A LOT!!  Almost every photo with Jenna she had to photo shop.  She did amazing!!  I was so nervous when we went over and viewed our pictures at her house.  As David put it after our photo shoot “She has to be a magician to get anything good out of that!  That was a disaster!”  After looking at our proofs I said, “well, you are a magician!”  And David said after leaving and climbing in our car to go home “That was worth every penny.”  Success! How close have you been to a Prophet?

David, and two other guys he works with, were invited to the Jazz game last Friday night. I have come to find out as a construction wife, to get business, you gotta play A LOT ! Here is a short list, not limited to, of what I mean by "play": Golfing (about 3 times a week-depending on the week and in warm weather of course) Snow skiing (about 2 times a week, again this depends on the week and when there's snow) Fancy dinners (this can also be counted as lunch, which happens more than I know I'm sure!) Executive Retreats (this will be happening in February for about 5 days in AZ, which will have all 5 days full of golfing, guaranteed!!) Jazz games (again, when in season) I don't know about you, but I think I'm in the wrong career!! This house wife things just does not include ANY of those benefits!! TRIALS

We have been preparing for over 4 years for this trial. But nothing, no matter how much you knew it could and most likely would happen, can prepare you when your son's doctor tells you now is the time. "Your son needs open heart surgery." August 24th, 2005, Jason was born in Las Vegas, NV. He was perfect and healthy looking in every way. At his 2 week check up the doctor heard a heart murmur and recommended I take him to the cardiologist. I mentioned that I was flying out to WA in a few days and so I'd probably go when I got back, 3 weeks later. The cardiologist doctor called me the next day after visiting with the pediatrician, asking me to go in to have Jason checked out. It was late and he was willing to stay after hours for us to get there. After an ultra sound of his heart (echo) the cardiologist diagnosed Jason with a very small hole in his heart. Nothing that needed to be fixed right away, unless it started causing problems. So Jason started going every 3 month
