Jenna’s 3rd Birthday

My baby keeps growing and I can’t seem to slow down time!  This little girl brings me so much JOY into my life.  Couldn’t imagine my life with out her!  Melanie painted her face with Jenna’s play makeup to look like a fairy.  By the end of the day it just looked like a bad birth mark!  She got to play with her friend and neighbor, Mia for a couple of hours.  She loves to play with friends.

Tony, Megan and Rocky came over and celebrated the fun with us.  We had lots of leftovers so we had that and I made rolls for ham/roll sandwiches.  Melanie made a special birthday sign for Jenna that she put on her chair.  It said “Jenna Happy Birthday”

  After dinner we sang “Happy Birthday” and Jenna opened her presents.  She got this rocking horse that neighs and moves it’s tail.  She loves it!  She also got a dog.  She loves animals like Melanie does.  Grandma and Grandpa Lee gave her a Rapunzel doll with the horse Maximus and Grandma and Grandpa McGary gave Jenna shopping money.

Tony surprised the kids with new shoes.  Tony is a shoe lover and has high fashion!  The kids were of course THRILLED with them!  Being big BYU fans that we are we gave Rocky a sweater shirt that had BYU cougars on it.

After all the presents were opened Jenna had to blow out her candles.  Then of course we had to sing happy birthday before that!  Strawberry Cheesecake!IMG_4670IMG_4671

Some facts about Jenna:

She loves to play with friends, even if they are Alyssa’s friends.  She thinks they are hers too.

She LOVES her nails painted. 

She also loves to get her hair curled.

She can get herself dressed.

She is getting better about getting on the toilet by herself.

She LOVES her blankie.  She puts it up to her nose and smells it!

She will be in Sunbeams in another week!

She is still out growing naps.  She will usually fall asleep around 4 pm and then be up until 10:30!

She loves to be with Daddy and go on car rides with him.

She has her Dad wrapped around his finger.  I heard him ask Jenna the other morning if she was to big to kiss him on the lips now.  I don’t think it will go away soon though!

She screams and I am trying to break her of it!

She loves being the baby of the family although she tells us “I am not a baby, I am a big girl like you!”

She is a good snuggler!

She tries to sing songs to the radio in the car.  She is usually always behind by a word.  It is cute to listen!

She loves stroller rides! 

She is quite the little coloring girl.  She always wants me to print out a picture from the computer and she tries her best while coloring to stay in the lines.

Is a BIG Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fan.  If it’s not on t.v. she watches it on the computer.

Has a tender heart and gets embarrassed easily if something happens in front of strangers.  It usually ends in tears she is so embarrassed!

Is so excited to go to school!  She can hardly stand it!

I love you Jenna!  So happy you are a part of our eternal family!!!

Our New Family Pictures

I have been on the hunt for a really good photographer for a long time here and there.  And I think I found one that did everything I wanted.  First, she comes and looks at the feel of your home.  For us I just sent pictures of our living room where I wanted the pictures placed.  Then she suggests colors to wear and sent pictures back with our room and picture placements she puts on the walls.  And with 5 kids, especially Jenna, you really have to photo shop A LOT!!  Almost every photo with Jenna she had to photo shop.  She did amazing!!  I was so nervous when we went over and viewed our pictures at her house.  As David put it after our photo shoot “She has to be a magician to get anything good out of that!  That was a disaster!”  After looking at our proofs I said, “well, you are a magician!”  And David said after leaving and climbing in our car to go home “That was worth every penny.”  Success! How close have you been to a Prophet?

David, and two other guys he works with, were invited to the Jazz game last Friday night. I have come to find out as a construction wife, to get business, you gotta play A LOT ! Here is a short list, not limited to, of what I mean by "play": Golfing (about 3 times a week-depending on the week and in warm weather of course) Snow skiing (about 2 times a week, again this depends on the week and when there's snow) Fancy dinners (this can also be counted as lunch, which happens more than I know I'm sure!) Executive Retreats (this will be happening in February for about 5 days in AZ, which will have all 5 days full of golfing, guaranteed!!) Jazz games (again, when in season) I don't know about you, but I think I'm in the wrong career!! This house wife things just does not include ANY of those benefits!! TRIALS

We have been preparing for over 4 years for this trial. But nothing, no matter how much you knew it could and most likely would happen, can prepare you when your son's doctor tells you now is the time. "Your son needs open heart surgery." August 24th, 2005, Jason was born in Las Vegas, NV. He was perfect and healthy looking in every way. At his 2 week check up the doctor heard a heart murmur and recommended I take him to the cardiologist. I mentioned that I was flying out to WA in a few days and so I'd probably go when I got back, 3 weeks later. The cardiologist doctor called me the next day after visiting with the pediatrician, asking me to go in to have Jason checked out. It was late and he was willing to stay after hours for us to get there. After an ultra sound of his heart (echo) the cardiologist diagnosed Jason with a very small hole in his heart. Nothing that needed to be fixed right away, unless it started causing problems. So Jason started going every 3 month
