A Little Getaway…
David had a convention in Las Vegas for work, kids were off track, that added up to us tagging along! After Jenna’s 15 month appt. Tuesday (which may have been a mistake since the shots made her cranky for a few days) we drove to St. George in separate cars, arriving that night. We celebrated Cameron’s birthday. His birthday was the next day but we wanted to celebrate with Dad there. He loved all of his presents and hopes to practice a lot with his dad! He got from us a bat, mitt, baseballs, batting T and scout stuff, ready for bears. Grandpa and Grandma Lee gave him a basketball and a batting practice thing that goes on a pole. He enjoyed shopping with the money Grandpa and Grandma McGary mailed to him too.
David left Wednesday morning to Vegas while we hung out at St. George. I was planning on really nice weather. The sun just peeked it’s head through a few times though. We brought bikes and strollers but only went out one time. We went to the city rec center and swam. The kids loved that! Grandpa read books to the kids every night.
Thursday we went to a park. It was pretty chilly. We ate lunch quick and warmed ourselves up playing on the playground.
Thursday night I caught a shuttle from St. George that drove me to Las Vegas. I was so excited to leave the kids with Grandpa and Grandma and have a night out on the town with my favorite person! David picked me up and surprised me with tickets to Phantom of the Opera. We had AMAZING seats and it was so much fun to be on a date!
We ate at a restaurant there. The food was delicious and the view was pretty good to with a glass window separating us from a Lamborghini shop. Afterwards we went over and had a better look!
The view from our hotel. We stayed at the PH Towers, next to Planet Hollywood. David was working Friday morning, getting everything in order for the day.
Fun couch in our room.
We went and did some shopping at the outlet malls Friday and then headed back to St. George. The kids were in good hands and were excited to see us home. Jenna was teething the whole trip and wasn’t feeling well with a cold either. Her back molars are poking through now, showing us she really was hurting!
Saturday we took the kids to the movie HOP. Jenna still wasn’t feeling well and so her and I only lasted for the first little bit. The kids came out excited and loved the movie!
After attending the first hour of church Sunday we headed home. What a boring drive when you don’t have someone in the passenger seat to talk to! And I didn’t have a cell phone so it was me listening to the kids’ movie. I did insist on listening to the radio the first hour of the drive.
Monday morning David unpacked his suitcase and packed it back up, remembering to put the small toiletries items in his suitcase because of airline rules. He has had to many full sized gel taken away while flying! He flew to South Carolina and then Wednesday will be flying into Las Vegas. Haven’t heard yet when he is flying back home. Probably Friday. Hopefully that is it for the traveling for a bit!
Kids are back on track and we are back in to the groove! Just hoping for nice weather to come our way!
