New House

This has been filling all of my time and thoughts lately.  If all goes well we will close the end of the month or beginning of July.  We are happy to be homeowners again!

First Summer Camping Trip

Image
When David told me he was going to AZ for business I decided I wanted to go camping.  It has been a long, busy week of activities for the kids and when I saw the calendar for the weekend had nothing planned I knew camping had to be done!  As much work as it is, it was actually very relaxing and very fun!  My goal was accomplished when all the kids agreed that they had a lot of fun.  That made it all worth it!  We were in a great campsite at Jolley’s Ranch, as far as shade went.  We had plenty of shade in the day.  But because we were on the mountain our tent was sloped.  The kids were all down at the bottom of the tent curled up by morning!  And my air mattress went flat!  It was worse the 2nd night when David joined us.  I didn’t sleep to well that 2nd night!  We roasted s’mores and that got everyone hyper!  Jason especially liked making his marshmallows black and crispy!  We also played a game of UNO in the dark! ...

End of School Year Fun

Image
While the boys were at Father and Son’s us girls went out and did fun stuff!  We went to a nursery and bought flowers for our front yard.  Then we went to PF Chang’s for dinner.  It was fun since neither of the girls had been there before. Jenna and Alyssa finished up their level of Gymnastics.  Jenna can move on from Tiny Tots 1 to Tiny Tots 2 but is taking a summer break.  Alyssa moved from Shooting Stars to Level 2 Team.  She is not taking a break this summer and is actually putting in a couple long hours a couple days every week.  She goes 3 hours for 2 days.  It is exhausting for her but she has fun and is going to improve so much this summer!  She has the makeup of a gymnast!  She is going to be short and she is flexible! Melanie started (all on her own) a pet service while the owners are away on vacation.  She got her first “client” named Charlie over Memorial Day weekend.  This is fulfilling her desire to own a pet ...

Jenna’s Preschool Graduation

Image
Jenna really enjoyed going to preschool 2.5 hours for 3 days a week.  It was a great time for her to be with friends and learn at the same time.  It was definitely worth it to put her in!  Especially since she was the only one home with no brothers or sisters all day long.  She had her preschool graduation at the end of May.  They sang songs and shared some things that they learned.  Jenna loved being in the spot light!  She went to Charisma Preschool and her teacher was Ms. Jolene.  Her teacher commented that Jenna is very detailed.  She is really good with puzzles and takes her time coloring because she wants to do a good job and stays in the lines pretty good too!  She is looking forward to one more year of preschool but can hardly wait to go to “real school!”

Jason Receives His Wolf!

Image
Jason has worked so hard to get his Wolf Award in Cub Scouts.  He actually should have received it in April but because of some miscommunication he didn’t get it.  So he has been looking at the calendar, anticipating this day!  They had a special Pack Meeting outside all about bikes and bike safety.  The kids had a lot of fun riding the bike course through the cones and learning how to fix a flat tire.  They also got to listen to a lady talk about helmet safety and were shown a helmet that was cracked because of her biking accident a few weeks prior.  Way to go Jason!!
