Tuesday and Wednesday in Cancun
Tuesday David and I did a short workout in the gym there. It felt good to get a good sweat on. And boy is it hard to workout in that humidity! I think I would take high altitude over humidity any day! David had a meeting on the phone that took up the rest of his morning. So while he was doing business stuff I went down to the beach and soaked up the sun. I walked the beach and just enjoyed it. When David finished up we ate lunch by the pool and then we went down my the beach some more. They had 3 different little snack shacks to choose from by the pool. One was mexican food, one was sushi and one was a mixture of tacos, burgers, etc. It was nice to have different options other than the buffet which we tried to avoid other than breakfast. We liked the fresh omelets every morning!
After being at the beach all morning and early afternoon, we changed our clothes and took the bus to the mall about a mile away. It was a really high end mall, definitely catered to tourists! We went to the movie “Thor 2” and watched the 3D version. Then we walked down to “The Outback” Restaurant for dinner. I think we were ready for “real” American food!
Wednesday we once again went down to the beach and enjoyed it! Every morning it was already so hot! Then we went to Market 28 in downtown Cancun. We rode the bus for about 30 mins.
It was quite the experience! David had fun speaking Spanish and bartering back and forth to buy things. We heard “High spender, come over here!” a lot! We even had a battle between two restaurants, each one showing us their menu, trying to get us to eat at their place. It was quite comical!
We came home with 3 of these bracelets, green, purple and white, a wooden mask for David’s parents, a jaguar face made out of wood, wood bow and arrows for the boys, necklaces and toy tops for the girls. It was a fun time! Since it was dark we took a taxi from the market to the bus stop. and headed back to the hotel.
