New Year New Goals

Today is January 1, 2025. A lot has happened since I last wrote. But one of my goals this year is to journal more and this is where I want to share. This has been a really hard, miraculous and joyful time for us. I am grateful for good health. That has been a blessing for our family! David has been working on his own for the past 1.5 years. He has been writing code to create an A.I. bot that will speak to you. In different languages soon too! This has been a time of a lot of late nights. Lonely times. David works from home but interaction with each other is small. This has been very hard for us and I don't know what normal looks like anymore. Communication for us has always been hard and this has made it 10xs harder. There is never a cut off time for work. David is back to getting 2,4,6 hours of sleep every night. The pull to provide is something I don't know how to feel he is experiencing. So I just try to support him how I know how. Stay out of his way and let him get done what he is choosing to do for work. Entreprenuership is not easy. I don't know if it's always worth it. But we keep moving forward with what David has chosen for his career path. A miracle that we have seen is that a year ago we decided to double our fast offerings. That has been a blessing in a lot of ways that I don't fully recognize or understand. I just know that we haven't been paid for these 1.5 years yet we are still able to make the payments we need to make every month. Jaon left on his mission to Taiwan in August. He is enjoying the daily work and the schedule of being a missionary. Melanie comes home next week from her mission in Wisconsin. It has been fun to see the growth in her since she started 18 months ago! Alyssa is 1/2 way through her senior year! She has a busy next couple of months, starting Mtech, cheering and competition cheer. Its been so fun to see her thrive in her roll as a cheer captain. She is driven and thrives on responsibility. Jenna just turned 15 and is 1/2 way through 9th grade. Its always fun to hear her stories she tells about her life, boys, etc. She is a cutie and has a bright future in high school ahead! Boston is busy with wrestling and club soccer. When he isn't doing those things he is wanting to hang out with friends, playing legos or throwing his football in the air. Cameron and Lace just finished their first semester at Lindenwood College where Cameron is on the olympic weightlifting team. He is enjoying it and doing well there! Its been a good transition for them from BYU-Idaho. Trying to stay optimistic and happy is hard for me at times. I can get myself into negative thought cycles that are hard for me to come out of. This makes me feel like a very negative person with a lot of negative and unhappy thoughts towards myself and others. Social media isn't always a good place for me to be during these times. This journaling is to help me write down these thoughts and work through them without judgement from others on other social media platforms.
