First Summer Camping Trip
When David told me he was going to AZ for business I decided I wanted to go camping. It has been a long, busy week of activities for the kids and when I saw the calendar for the weekend had nothing planned I knew camping had to be done! As much work as it is, it was actually very relaxing and very fun! My goal was accomplished when all the kids agreed that they had a lot of fun. That made it all worth it! We were in a great campsite at Jolley’s Ranch, as far as shade went. We had plenty of shade in the day. But because we were on the mountain our tent was sloped. The kids were all down at the bottom of the tent curled up by morning! And my air mattress went flat! It was worse the 2nd night when David joined us. I didn’t sleep to well that 2nd night! We roasted s’mores and that got everyone hyper! Jason especially liked making his marshmallows black and crispy! We also played a game of UNO in the dark!
The next day we went to the park and played. Cameron brought his baseball gear and played that. Then we all gravitated toward Hobble Creek right next to the park as it got hotter. It was a fun day of exploring and being together. I loved it! Dad got home and came up to join us at 9 pm. Just in time to roast a couple of marshmallows and eat s’mores.
