David

David left to the Philippines on November 30th.  We went out the weekend before.  We ate at the Happy Sumo Restraunt and got dessert at the Red Mango.  Yum!  We browsed the beautiful paintings in one of the shops at the River Woods Mall while we waited for our table.  With the Christmas lights, Santa Claus and Hay Rides going on in the plaza it was “Magical”.  I love this time of year!

The next Wednesday we went with our good friends, Andy and Kate, to temple square.  Andy is David’s partner and so they go over to the Philippines together.  I am glad they have each other over there.  We ate at the Cheese Cake Factory and then went and watched “Savior of the World” at the conference center.  It was a fun night!

This was the first time David has left during the holidays.  It was a needed trip.  David’s company Greenwire just sold to ActiveCare.  Two partners who were funding the company were bought out.  David and Andy have signed a 2 year employment agreement.  So far the change has been positive.  But it has brought more stress and “proving” to the new partners what David and Andy already know.  That they have been successful and will continue to be successful.  They will be growing their workforce in the Philippines and were looking for new space to expand in.  They also had the company Christmas party.  It was more work and very stressful this trip.  It was also very stressful for me!  I think it was one of the hardest times for me with David leaving.  We are all happy he is back home!

David came home the night before his birthday.  The boys had wrestling matches on David’s big day.  So we were up early to be in Provo by 8 am.  The boys LOVED having Dad on the mat wrestling with them.  Some things mom’s just can’t do!  Jason wrestled first in the 50 Lb weight.    IMG_4564IMG_4565IMG_4566IMG_4567IMG_4570IMG_4571

Cameron wrestled at noon.  He also liked warming up with Dad.  Cameron wrestled the 70 LB weight class.  I am proud of my boys for the things they are learning.  They are learning to work hard and they are learning life lessons.  This sport is all about them.  No one else to lean on.  It is a hard sport to do.

After the wrestling matches we came home and David blew out his candles and opened his presents and cards.  I got him weights, his snow skies waxed and tuned up and bought and installed the shelves and organized the garage.  Now he is already to set up his gym in the garage!

We got a babysitter and went to City Creek Mall and ate at the Cheese Cake Factory.  It was a fun night!  Happy 34th Birthday David!  So proud of you and all you have accomplished!!
