My Baby is 2!?!

Jenna had her 2nd birthday the day after Christmas.  before Christmas I was getting pretty mad at myself and beating myself up over the fact that I CHOSE to have Jenna the day after Christmas.  Then I decided I couldn’t change it, just embrace it and make her birthday’s the best they could be.  To late now to change her birth date!  So while out doing Christmas shopping I threw in some birthday shopping too so it would all be ready the day of her birthday.

My parents toook us out to the movie Tintin.  It was really cute and the kids really enjoyed it.  It was a great movie for the whole family to enjoy.  Jenna is almost old enough to sit through a whole movie.  But she enjoyed walking from Grandma at one end to Grandpa on the other end.  We sat in the isle area where the handicapped seating is, which was perfect for her to be able to move around!

Then we got home and had some Papa Murphy’s Pizza.  Jenna loved all of the attention and knew exactly what to do with those presents!

All of her gifts were perfect!  She got a dress up dress and purse from G. & G. McGary, Barbie and horse from G. & G. Lee and a Tangled dress up dress and 3 pairs of princess dress up shoes from David and I.  Alyssa was sure that those shoes would be perfect on her too!

Jenna knew exactly what to do when it came time to blow out the candles on her cupcakes.

I just want to cry and rejoice all at the same time looking at these pictures!  Sometimes it seems like your kids will never grow up!  But then it passes quickly looking back.  I love Jenna so much and know she was meant to come to our family.  She is a big blessing and her siblings just love her to pieces.  Melanie said the other day how much she loved having a baby sister.  And I could not agree more.  She is pretty darn lucky!

Two already? That went really really quick. I remember all your fears and anxieties about having her. How fun. SHe's beautiful and looks like she enjoyed her day.

David, and two other guys he works with, were invited to the Jazz game last Friday night. I have come to find out as a construction wife, to get business, you gotta play A LOT ! Our New Family Pictures

I have been on the hunt for a really good photographer for a long time here and there.  And I think I found one that did everything I wanted.  First, she comes and looks at the feel of your home.  For us I just sent pictures of our living room where I wanted the pictures placed.  Then she suggests colors to wear and sent pictures back with our room and picture placements she puts on the walls.  And with 5 kids, especially Jenna, you really have to photo shop A LOT!!  Almost every photo with Jenna she had to photo shop.  She did amazing!!  I was so nervous when we went over and viewed our pictures at her house.  As David put it after our photo shoot “She has to be a magician to get anything good out of that!  That was a disaster!”  After looking at our proofs I said, “well, you are a magician!”  And David said after leaving and climbing in our car to go home “That was worth every penny.”  Success! Melanie’s Calling in Life

Two Days ago Melanie was getting ready to go out the door.  She had her coat and was looking for her other jacket.  I asked her why she needed it when she already had her coat on.  She said she was going to take it to her friend at school, Humana, because she wears 3 jackets and doesn’t have a coat.  5 minutes later Melanie asked me “Mom, can we buy Humana a coat?”  I had already been thinking about that but told Melanie I would look while I was out to see if I could find one.  I went to 3 different stores to look!  Winter coats in that size are hard to find these days!  But I finally found something at Walmart and got gloves and a hat.  My friend, Angela, who drove carpool that morning called me while I was out looking.  She called worried because Melanie had said on the way to school that her friend didn’t have a coat and was sleeping on the floor.  I told her I knew about the coat and was getting one but Melanie hadn’t mentioned ...
