Christmas Break
With this crazy wild “NO SNOW” weather we were able to go up to WA after Christmas. Oh what fun it was!! I was so glad that we went because with the passes you just never know which year is a good year to go. We caravaned with my parents from our house to theirs. That made the drive much quieter with 2 of the kids always in my parent’s car. Around southern Idaho my dad went over the top of a large sheep dog that was already killed in the middle of the road. I guess it was quite the bump! When we stopped in Burley for breakfast my dad found out that it made a hole in the gas tank and gas was leaking out pretty bad. So we went across the street to Walmart. My dad never ceases to impress, amaze or stun me with his McGeyvor abilities. 30 mins later we were on the road. If it was us and we were alone we would probably be sitting around waiting for a car dealership to open and paying lots of $$$ to get it fixed!!
The day after we arrived we had a big family picture taken. Annette Olivieri took them and they turned out amazing! So excited for my parents to finally have a big family picture with all their kids and grandkids!
Then we headed over to the infamous McGary Family party. Our kids were pretty surprised when they would point at another kid and ask if they were our cousin too and the answer was always YES! It was a lot of fun with games and food and presents!
Thursday afternoon we went and met some more cousins on the Lee side. Andrea invited Melissa’s family and Tony and his girlfriend were there also. Melissa was crocheting some fun things and taught Melanie how to do it. She loved it and was crocheting away the rest of the trip!
Friday afternoon we headed up to Camp Zarahemla. The snow was pretty barren there also but luckily it snowed 4 inches the night before we arrived. Phew! What is a cabin like with no snow in the winter? David got the Rhino working by putting in a new battery that his dad had. That was fun for the kids to get to ride around on the fun innertube they had! They also did some sledding. It was a fun afternoon outside!
David and I went on a romantic drive but found this tree that had fallen over in the road. So we later went back and got the chainsaw.
This road went on forever! We did not get all the way to the top but the views were amazing! A lot more snow up there also!!
I also found out that Chuck was working on a 1000 piece puzzle. I LOVE puzzles!! We finished it New Years Eve.
And I can not believe we came home with out one picture of Elder and Sister Lee!! So disappointing!!
It was a great trip and we were happy to come home to all the new toys that were waiting for us!
