Christmas 2011
This year for Christmas my parents came in to town! We loved having them here. I got to go shopping with my dad Christmas Eve morning. We quickly found the presents he was looking for for my mom. The kids got to open their exchange gifts that they got each other before our big Christmas Eve dinner. The limit was $10 and they worked really hard to earn their money by doing jobs around the house. It was a lot of fun for all of them to understand (not Jenna yet) what was going on this year. No break downs in the store while shopping for someone else and not themselves! Cameron got Jason bey blades, Melanie got Alyssa makeup, Jason got Jenna a stuffed horse, Alyssa got Melanie a little puppy and Jenna got Cameron beyblades.
After dinner the kids acted out the Nativity Story. That also is getting better as the kids are getting older and understand more. We had two Mary’s.
Then the kids got to open their gifts from G. and G. Lee. They each got new pajamas and a a new book to read! A tradition they started last year and I love it!
Reading in bed! Alyssa had to read both her Fancy Nancy books. She got her other one last year.
Jenna got Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you see? We read it everyday before naptime. She LOVES it!
Christmas morning I hear my dad shout “HO HO HO! Merry Christmas!” Well that got no response out of the kids so a bit later I hear him up in the kids’ room waking them up at 6:30! I remember him doing that the last time they spent Christmas with us.
Santa did not disappoint the kids! It was a fun morning of unwrapping gifts and playing with all the new toys.
Jenna got a Bitty Baby from Santa, markers and coloring pad, legos, piano and guitar, tent and of course she loved the candy in her stocking!
Jason got a 3 wheel scooter from Santa, bey blades and different launchers with a case, race track, BYU tie, Pokemon cards and a football.
Cameron got a rip stick from Santa, bey blades and launchers and case, race track, BYU tie and a watch.
Alyssa got a guitar from Santa, Markers and coloring pad, American girl doll clothes and matching outfits, 2 barbies and a Moxee Girl Doll and a Car for her American Girl Doll.
Melanie got an Easy Bake Oven from Santa, coloring pad, watch, American Girl Doll clothes with matching outfits, Car for her American Girl Doll and a Cat that will walk
Grandpa and Grandma watching it all! They got some fun gifts as well. New Lamp, shoes, jewelry box, coat, winter hat, crock pot were some of them.
Just when they thought it was all over…
They finally figured out the riddle after some hints. They were not expecting these to be downstairs!
Ping Pong table from Mom and Dad and a Foose ball table from Grandma and Grandpa McGary! Great Black Friday finds!!
Later that night we had games going and Cheerleaders to cheer us on! Grandpa was trying out the new treadmill that was mine and David’s gift for each other.
Christmas landed on a Sunday and so we got dressed and ready for church. Luckily 1 o’clock church allowed us to play a little first! Feeling so blessed and grateful for Jesus Christ’s birth. I am so glad we get a chance to reflect on Him and all that He has done for all of us! I love that the Christmas spirit is around all month long and not just one day. It truly is the best time of the year!
