4th of July- God Bless America!!

We had a fun 4th of July weekend. Colby and Trisha and their 2 boys came down from Rexburg to celebrate with us. They will be done from school in 3 weeks and then moving back to Wa. It'll be a while till they get to come visit us in UT, so they took advantage!

Friday we went to the Kearns water park. It's a great park for my kids' age. Jason stuck by Cameron's side the whole time and they were running up to the top and sliding down, over and over again. They were funny to watch. Melanie was going up and down the slides herself and having a ball. Alyssa and I sat in the water most of the time. She brought a round swim tube that worked out perfect for her. They also had a huge bucket of water that would drop down on the kids under it. When the bell sounded that it was almost full they all ran over to get wet. Jason didn't know what to think at first. He wasn't to happy when the pressure of the water and the amount of it fell on top of him. I think he figured how to keep his head down and his face covered with his hands when the water hit!! The only thing there for adults were the diving boards and swimming. Both platform and springboard diving boards. We watched David and Colby jump off the tallest platform. It looked cool, but David came home with a massive headache. The kids practiced their swimming skills in the water where they could touch. They all were just loving being in the water. It was so much fun!

We set up our tents outside on the lawn. The kids loved it and it felt like "real" camping to them. We will remember to buy an air mattress before we go camping in August. The ground was a little to bumpy for David and I. Kids can sleep on anything!

Saturday we went to the West Jordan parade. It was fun, but a little disappointing. I don't think we will waste our time next year. A few floats, clowns and marching bands. A LOT of companies advertising. We left early and got some ice cream cones at McDonalds. The kids liked that! What's a holiday without a little golf? David and Colby went to the golfing range down the road for a few hours and came home with a little more sun!

Colby brought down their b-b-quer and so we used that to cook our dinners on. Hamburgers Friday and steaks on Saturday. LOVE b-b-quing!! We moved our table out on to our deck and ate dinner outside Saturday night. It turned out to be perfect weather this weekend. I was worried because there was lightning and rain in the forecast. I'm sure someone else got that!

Back to a busy week this week. We have lots of plans this month. It'll be a fun month of summer!!
