9 YEARS!

Image
Jason is 9 and I can’t believe it!  He seems to be growing up so fast to me!!  This was his year for a friend’s party and he named off 11 friends he wanted to invite.  I made him whittle it down to 5 since we were going to Lowe’s Extreme Airsports and didn’t have room in the van for 11!  He invited 3 from our new neighborhood (Nick, Andrew and Steven) and 2 from our old neighborhood (Gibson and Thomas).  He had a blast and loves to be around his friends.  Even though he is one of the shorter ones, he is a born leader and boys seem to gravitate to him.  It is a Lee gene . Sunday morning was his actual birthday and he woke up to coffee cake and eggs with sausage in them.  Pretty big deal since we have  9 am church!  After church he opened his presents and birthday cards.  He got money from Grandma and Grandpa Lee and McGary and a Star Wars Lego set from us and a new bike!  He has a TON of legos in his room that he plays with ev...

Dresser Remodel

Image
So this dresser was given to us by my parents when we were at BYU.  We have had it for as long as we have had Melanie!  10 years!!  This dresser goes with the bedroom set my sister and I got when I was 5 years old!  So this dresser has been around a LONG time!  It has a mirror that goes on the back of it that I just never put back on when we moved here.  Anyway, David HATED it and has wanted to get a new one forever.  I thought it was totally usable and there was no reason to go out and buy another one even though the drawer pulls were falling off and it didn’t match our bed.  The drawers are even put in wrong from the last move that I never rearranged!  David thought I was crazy when I told him I was going to paint it white and put it into the girls’ room.  After all, it has some sentimental value to it!  It was quite the project and the girls’ room was a TOTAL DISASTER for 1 1/2 weeks while this was in the garage getting painted....

The Last Hurrah At The End Of Summer

Image
We spent the Friday before school started at Lagoon.  Boy what a difference 4 years makes!  4 years ago we were on the kiddy rides for most of the day.  This time David took the older 3 and went on the big rides and I took Alyssa and Jenna on the little rides.  Alyssa was getting bored so when we found out she could ride the rides with an adult (she was 46”), she hung out with the big kids more and LOVED the crazy roller coasters.  I was the designated escort since I couldn’t ride the rides.  We went to Laguna Beach for an hour and cooling off in the water was very nice!  It was hot!  The kids had a great time and were surprised when their favorite rides from before were kind of boring to them.  It was a great day of fun!

Moving, Olaf, Fire Scare and More

We made it!  We closed on our home and got the moving all done!  It was a stressful week for sure!!  We closed on the house Monday July 14th, moved on the 15th and I had cleaners come to our rental on the 16th.  Boy was that the best decision EVER!!  3 ladies got the whole house cleaned in 5 hours.  I would have been there for days!  Then the unpacking started!  David left me Friday morning with the kids to take down and install wood blinds for his parents in St. George.  I opted to stay home, have a spa day and unpack uninterrupted and that turned out to be another great decision!  My feet have hurt every day for a month by the end of the day with standing up all day.  The spa was just what I needed!  When David returned Saturday night I had all the boxes unpacked or moved out of the way.  At least we knew where our clothes were Sunday morning before church! Another big thing that happened RIGHT after we moved was purcha...
