4th of July Block Party

This year our awesome, amazing, over the top neighbors put on a block party!  I think they invited everyone in the ward that didn’t have other plans.  It was a huge hit!  We all pitched in $30/family and that got us a dunk tank, blow up water slides, cotton candy, snow cones and dinner!  It was so fun!  The kids loved it and were outside all day!

We started off the morning with a kids triathlon.  Boy was that fun!  This was the kids’ first one ever and it was such a hit that it might become a tradition!  The kids all went in shifts in the pool.  Jenna even swam!  When David saw Jenna have her scared, almost ready to cry face on when I pulled her hand to get her in the deep end, he jumped in and swam with her!  She was all smiles after that and swam all by herself.  David had to get a new phone after this.  It did not like the plunge into the pool!   Alyssa got pretty nervous so she opted to just ride her bike and run.  I had a hard time keeping up with all the kids and getting their pictures!  After the swim they rode their bikes 2 laps around the loop of houses and then ran 1 loop.  They all did awesome!

All the kids that participated in the triathlon.  Man I am going to miss this good group of kids!  What great friends my kids have!

The block party didn’t start officially until 1:00.  But what do you do when there is a dunk tank already out and your friends are playing?  I was reapplying sunscreen all day long and they still managed to get burned!
