Pinewood Derby

Image
Last Saturday Cameron had his 1st Pinewood Derby.  Let’s just say we were ALL excited to finally have a Pinewood Derby Race!!  David did research online of “the fastest Pinewood Derby Car”.  He even bought a 2nd car so that they could have a practice one to cut out with.  It was a lot of stress for Cameron.  Poor kid gets to much from his mom and dad!  He wanted it just perfect!!  Tuesday before the race they had a weigh in.  The car could not be over 5 ozs.  Well Cameron came home so distraught that his car was only 4.5 ozs.  Not quite enough to him.  Saturday morning David went over to the grocery story and bought some more weights and it weighed in at a perfect 4.9 ozs.  We even brought along the cheerleaders! There were some very creative cars there!  A few of our favorites were the ice cream sandwich, tank and a car from the movie “CARS”. The track was really high tech.  It even had a photo finish that they ...

What we have been up to lately…

It finally snowed and the kids have LOVED playing out in it!  Melanie is giving Jenna a ride on her sled and the neighbor boy was out playing too! Green Smoothies.  Yum!  I whip one of these babies up every morning for my breakfast and Jenna insists on having one too.  She LOVES them!  I love the green moustache she gets every time. After our dentist appt. in West Jordan last week we went over to the Nike Outlet store.  I went in with the intention of getting one pair of shoes for Cameron but walked out with 4 pairs.  The kids are all so excited to run in them.  Sunday afternoon they put on their shoes and put in one of my workout videos.  The boys thought that looked pretty darn fun and put on their new shoes and worked out to!  About 20 mins after they were done Cameron said he felt so good!  He even asked me to wake him up in the morning so he could work out with me! Melanie made treats for Family Home Evening.  Delic...

Goals for 2012

Last year was a good year for me. I accomplished all my goals that I set out to do. I learned, probably for the first time, that I can do ANYTHING I set my mind to. It was very fulfilling for me and empowering to look back in December 2011 with the satisfaction of making those goals happen. So rolls around January 2012. Another year, new goals and hopefully continuing on with some of the same ones as last year. I will admit that I have already messed up on one. The first Sunday back from the holidays we sit down in church and they announce it is fast and testimony meeting. How could I go 12 months in a row remembering to fast and then forget! Well, that goal with be continuing again this year. Still talking about spiritual goals, I want to read the Book of Mormon again. Last year I did reach my goal of reading it in 60 days (I would totally recommend it to anyone!) and it was amazing. But then that was over and I stopped reading. I found I yearned for that spiritual feed I...

Christmas Break

Image
With this crazy wild “NO SNOW” weather we were able to go up to WA after Christmas.  Oh what fun it was!!  I was so glad that we went because with the passes you just never know which year is a good year to go.  We caravaned with my parents from our house to theirs.  That made the drive much quieter with 2 of the kids always in my parent’s car.  Around southern Idaho my dad went over the top of a large sheep dog that was already killed in the middle of the road.  I guess it was quite the bump!  When we stopped in Burley for breakfast my dad found out that it made a hole in the gas tank and gas was leaking out pretty bad.  So we went across the street to Walmart.  My dad never ceases to impress, amaze or stun me with his McGeyvor abilities.  30 mins later we were on the road.  If it was us and we were alone we would probably be sitting around waiting for a car dealership to open and paying lots of $$$ to get it fixed!!  The day...

My Baby is 2!?!

Jenna had her 2nd birthday the day after Christmas.  before Christmas I was getting pretty mad at myself and beating myself up over the fact that I CHOSE to have Jenna the day after Christmas.  Then I decided I couldn’t change it, just embrace it and make her birthday’s the best they could be.  To late now to change her birth date!  So while out doing Christmas shopping I threw in some birthday shopping too so it would all be ready the day of her birthday. My parents toook us out to the movie Tintin.  It was really cute and the kids really enjoyed it.  It was a great movie for the whole family to enjoy.  Jenna is almost old enough to sit through a whole movie.  But she enjoyed walking from Grandma at one end to Grandpa on the other end.  We sat in the isle area where the handicapped seating is, which was perfect for her to be able to move around! Then we got home and had some Papa Murphy’s Pizza.  Jenna loved all of the attention and k...

Christmas 2011

Image
This year for Christmas my parents came in to town!  We loved having them here.  I got to go shopping with my dad Christmas Eve morning.  We quickly found the presents he was looking for for my mom.  The kids got to open their exchange gifts that they got each other before our big Christmas Eve dinner.  The limit was $10 and they worked really hard to earn their money by doing jobs around the house.  It was a lot of fun for all of them to understand (not Jenna yet) what was going on this year.  No break downs in the store while shopping for someone else and not themselves!  Cameron got Jason bey blades, Melanie got Alyssa makeup, Jason got Jenna a stuffed horse, Alyssa got Melanie a little puppy and Jenna got Cameron beyblades. After dinner the kids acted out the Nativity Story.  That also is getting better as the kids are getting older and understand more.  We had two Mary’s.    Then the kids got to open their gifts from G....
