Springville Home Continued

We finished furnishing the rest of our house this month.  David’s parents wanted to see pictures since they are away on their mission.

The guest bedroom.  Not sure what to do with the lamps yet.  After decorating for Christmas and rearranging they came out of the living and ended up in this room.

Melanie’s room.  She picked out her bed and absolutely LOVES it!  We will be decorating with pink and black some time after Christmas.  She has been the patient one through this.  Her room is taking the longest out of the kids.  I don’t feel to bad though since our room has not changed since we got married.  That will be the next room on the list hopefully!  For now, the dress stand by the door will have to do as far as décor goes.  Oh and a dresser is still on the list for this room!

The most completed room.  This has been an ongoing project that started when we moved in though.  Jenna upgraded from her portable crib to a big girl bed.  Alyssa was so excited to sleep in a room with just Jenna when we moved, she slept in a sleeping bag for 2 weeks until her bed arrived.  I love the way their quilts turned out.  And since toys are in the basement this room looks like this MOST of the time!

Our office has a real desk!  What a wonderful thing!!

David, and two other guys he works with, were invited to the Jazz game last Friday night. I have come to find out as a construction wife, to get business, you gotta play A LOT ! Here is a short list, not limited to, of what I mean by "play": Golfing (about 3 times a week-depending on the week and in warm weather of course) Snow skiing (about 2 times a week, again this depends on the week and when there's snow) Fancy dinners (this can also be counted as lunch, which happens more than I know I'm sure!) Executive Retreats (this will be happening in February for about 5 days in AZ, which will have all 5 days full of golfing, guaranteed!!) Our New Family Pictures

I have been on the hunt for a really good photographer for a long time here and there.  And I think I found one that did everything I wanted.  First, she comes and looks at the feel of your home.  For us I just sent pictures of our living room where I wanted the pictures placed.  Then she suggests colors to wear and sent pictures back with our room and picture placements she puts on the walls.  And with 5 kids, especially Jenna, you really have to photo shop A LOT!!  Almost every photo with Jenna she had to photo shop.  She did amazing!!  I was so nervous when we went over and viewed our pictures at her house.  As David put it after our photo shoot “She has to be a magician to get anything good out of that!  That was a disaster!”  After looking at our proofs I said, “well, you are a magician!”  And David said after leaving and climbing in our car to go home “That was worth every penny.”  Success! Melanie’s Calling in Life

Two Days ago Melanie was getting ready to go out the door.  She had her coat and was looking for her other jacket.  I asked her why she needed it when she already had her coat on.  She said she was going to take it to her friend at school, Humana, because she wears 3 jackets and doesn’t have a coat.  5 minutes later Melanie asked me “Mom, can we buy Humana a coat?”  I had already been thinking about that but told Melanie I would look while I was out to see if I could find one.  I went to 3 different stores to look!  Winter coats in that size are hard to find these days!  But I finally found something at Walmart and got gloves and a hat.  My friend, Angela, who drove carpool that morning called me while I was out looking.  She called worried because Melanie had said on the way to school that her friend didn’t have a coat and was sleeping on the floor.  I told her I knew about the coat and was getting one but Melanie hadn’t mentioned ...
