New House, New Start
We made it! We have survived the first week of the move and I feel like we have adjusted very well so far. We loaded the moving van on Friday the 16th. We had the help of the Elder’s Quorum come over. It took 1 1/2 hours to fill the moving van. We realized we needed to get another smaller moving van and reserved one online that night. It was needed mostly for the leftover things in the garage. Bikes, lawn mower, tools, etc. What David called the junk pile. We stayed up that night cleaning until 1 am, getting it ready for our new renters who would be moving in Sunday. We all slept in sleeping bags that night. 5:30 was an early wake up call. David and I wrapped up our t.v. and pictures and loaded them in the back of our van and then we made sure the stuff in the moving truck was secure and then he took off for the new home in Springville. I stayed home and got the kids to the neighbors so I could finish cleaning while our carpets were getting professionally cleaned. David called at 9:30 and let me know he was on his way back to pick up the other moving truck. There were 35 people at our new house from our new ward helping to move us in. We were SHOCKED! Cameron had his last football game that he went to. David watched him play while I came down with the rest of the kids to be at the house so our new fridge could be delivered. It was quite the chaotic day! By the end of the day we did not have much accomplished. I forgot to mention there was the big Utah vs. BYU home game that night. David walks out the door with his friend “bye honey” as I am looking amongst the mess.
And this is at the end of the first day, several hours later of unpacking. I didn’t get any pictures but the kids’ rooms were completely done that night. I had to have somewhere I could go that was organized! These pictures are still overwhelming. I am glad that part of moving is over!
The kids played hopscotch with all that bubble wrap in the garage, thanks to the idea on pinterest!
First day of school all over again!
And I get to spend the day with these cuties!!
Alyssa started preschool also. A lady in our new ward came up to me and asked me if she was in one. She teaches in her basement and it is darling! Alyssa is having a ball and I am so excited for her. Today I heard her say “A, Apple, ah” (letter, word, sound) while I was upstairs and she was eating lunch. I am excited to see her grow this year! It is kind of weird only having 1 all morning long. But refreshing also!
David left to the Philippines a few days ago. I am just glad I quickly got settled as fast as I could. It makes it easier and not so overwhelming!
I am still trying to figure out a new workout schedule. It is pitch black at 6:30 am. I think I might go and get a jogging stroller. Since I only have Jenna 3 days a week in the morning I might go run after the kids go to school. It would be fun for Jenna I think to. I have found I NEED exercise for my soul!
Hopefully I will post pictures of the new house in a couple weeks. Still need to hang up pictures and things. David usually helps with stuff like that. I get things crooked!
