Happy Boo to you!!
This was a busy week of Halloween activities! Alyssa was the first to celebrate with her preschool on Tuesday. It was my turn to teach and the girls all came in costume. They had fun. We made ghosts, frosted sugar cookies and they each got to take home a fun halloween bag filled with treats!
Wednesday night was the traditional ward Halloween carnival. The kids were so excited that it was FREE and you didn’t need any tickets to play and you could go as MANY times as you wanted! SCORE!!! Jenna was a pumpkin, Alyssa a witch, Jason a Ninja Turtle, Melanie was an Indian girl and Cameron a pirate!
Jenna was content in her stroller looking around the whole time! Alyssa and Melanie loved the Beehives to paint their faces. This was the station the Priests were in charge of, so David was here most of the night. They shot at a pumpkin and if they hit it then an unlucky person (they recruited the 11 year olds) got to get a whip cream pie in the face. This was a favorite!
They also had a station to eat a donut off the string. The boys were in heaven with unlimited donuts! And Jason just cut through the chase and shoved the donuts in his mouth!
Friday morning Cameron and Melanie had their school parade. The kids had fun with this. It’s fun to see all your friends dressed up! Cameron’s teacher, Mrs. Tysver the cowgirl.
Melanie with her class. Ms. Pearson was a purple crayon.
Then Friday afternoon Jason’s preschool put on a little show with Halloween songs they have practiced all month. Jason must have been stage fright. He did not sing at all. I know he knew them because he has been singing them at home. Not sure what he was thinking up there! But he looked cute! Ms. Cindy is a great teacher! Saturday afternoon we finally got to carving pumpkins! We brought these home from my parents garden. I am so glad we did since it saved us an expensive trip to the pumpkin patch. David helped the kids finish when he got home from work. I was so glad since carving pumpkins isn’t one of my favorite activities! You can see their creations with markers before the carving started! I made dinner in a pumpkin for the first time with Alyssa’s pumpkin and the flavor was great, but the rice was still hard! I will have to try a different recipe next year because it was a lot of fun!
And all ready to go trick-or-treating. As usual, I don’t think about a cute bag until the night of. So once again Walmart bags do the job! See all the rain outside? Melanie and Jason lasted the longest. I drove next to them with Jenna in the car and eventually Alyssa got in to. Cameron only lasted our street. It was a fun week and the kids are already thinking up what they want to be next year!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
