Oquirrh Mountain Temple

Last weekend we went to our new temple that is only 5 mins. from our home. Unfortunately David was in Hawaii so he missed out, but almost all of the rest of his family was in town. It is gorgeous inside and it was so fun to take the kids through. There was a big group of us and so we were always counting heads, making sure everyone was still in the group.

We were able to go again last night. David's good friend, Hans flew into town and is staying with us for the weekend. (Our house has been overflowing with guests in the last week!) We were talking when he got to our house and the temple open house was mentioned. Hans is a recent convert to the church and so we decided to go through it again. We went and ate right across the street at Red Robin and then headed over. This time we went slower with David explaining a lot of what went on in each of the rooms to Hans and I was taking the time to explain to the kids, which I didn't really do the first time through. I'm amazed at how much the kids remembered and knew. They each had their brochure of the temple they got outside and so they were looking at that while going through the rooms and matching the picture in the brochure. Of course the cookies and water at the end were nice!!

South Jordan is the only city in the world to have 2 temples in the same city. The Jordan River temple does 25% of all the work in the world in just that temple, hence the need for more temples in this area. I'm so glad we got to go see it!!
