Pretending

So I was folding laundry on the couch and between folding and putting the clothes away, this is the conversation I heard between Cameron and Melanie
Melanie: "Come on Cameron, let's go get married."

Cameron: "Okay, here put your k-nex at our house" (rocking chair)

Melanie: "Let's go get married in the temple. You get in here (fake car) and you drive."
Pointing up the stairs, "Its on the mountain."

A little later in the boys' room Cameron is in there holding a baby, and enters Melanie:
Melanie: "pretend she stops crying when I hold her."

Cameron: "she's been crying all day!"

And a little later:
Melanie: "I love my present, David!"

Obviously the names got switched the longer they were "married". I have to say that Cameron is a pretty good sport at all of this "playing house". It doesn't happen often but when it does Melanie usually takes over and tells Cameron what to do and he usually goes along with it. There are sweet moments such as these during the days, between the fighting!

how sweet. I thought I would tell you that I will not be able to make it to your Modbe party. With gas the way it is and we are out in BC every Mon-Tues I just can't make the trip AGAIN! I am bummed though, I wish I would have known about it sooner because i just ordered a swimsuit and really would have loved to know what size I needed. hopefully it will work out okay. good luck with the party I am sure it will be fun.

this made me laugh. I can jsut see camerons face as he says these things. And Melanie, when she gets married, I think she's gonna wear the pants in the relationship. so cute! Have fun at moms!

I wonder what they would say if they pretended they're going to visit Grandpa & Grandma McGary. Cameron: "Oh, I love the snake Grandpa caught for me to pet. You pet it first, Melanie." Melanie: "I'm going to get a cookie and some ice cream, then I'm going to go to Great Grandma McGary's and pet the (t)kitties." We sure enjoy your family coming to visit!!! The Modbe party was really fun! Thanks for doing it for us.

too cute. andrea and kiya are always picking flowers outside making bouquets and getting married...sometimes to princes and sometimes one of them is the prince! i usually try to change that when i see that happening!!!! :)

David, and two other guys he works with, were invited to the Jazz game last Friday night. I have come to find out as a construction wife, to get business, you gotta play A LOT ! Our New Family Pictures

I have been on the hunt for a really good photographer for a long time here and there.  And I think I found one that did everything I wanted.  First, she comes and looks at the feel of your home.  For us I just sent pictures of our living room where I wanted the pictures placed.  Then she suggests colors to wear and sent pictures back with our room and picture placements she puts on the walls.  And with 5 kids, especially Jenna, you really have to photo shop A LOT!!  Almost every photo with Jenna she had to photo shop.  She did amazing!!  I was so nervous when we went over and viewed our pictures at her house.  As David put it after our photo shoot “She has to be a magician to get anything good out of that!  That was a disaster!”  After looking at our proofs I said, “well, you are a magician!”  And David said after leaving and climbing in our car to go home “That was worth every penny.”  Success! Melanie’s Calling in Life

Two Days ago Melanie was getting ready to go out the door.  She had her coat and was looking for her other jacket.  I asked her why she needed it when she already had her coat on.  She said she was going to take it to her friend at school, Humana, because she wears 3 jackets and doesn’t have a coat.  5 minutes later Melanie asked me “Mom, can we buy Humana a coat?”  I had already been thinking about that but told Melanie I would look while I was out to see if I could find one.  I went to 3 different stores to look!  Winter coats in that size are hard to find these days!  But I finally found something at Walmart and got gloves and a hat.  My friend, Angela, who drove carpool that morning called me while I was out looking.  She called worried because Melanie had said on the way to school that her friend didn’t have a coat and was sleeping on the floor.  I told her I knew about the coat and was getting one but Melanie hadn’t mentioned ...
