Easter

Image
Well, since I was in Portland Easter weekend the kids really missed out on all of the activities associated with this holiday.  Sunday the girls wore their Easter dresses to church so I did not want to miss another opportunity of capturing this moment in time.  Cameron always wears a white shirt to church.  This particular week he wore a black one.  His last though.  I believe in wearing white shirts to church.  Neither picture turned out great so I will put both up. See?  Not great!  Melanie just cried when she saw that SHE did not match the other girls and their dresses were “cuter” Easter morning.  I guess you can’t win them all.  Especially with Melanie!  She even insisted that we go to Costco after Easter so that SHE could look to see if they had one her size because her mom just didn’t look good enough.  She even kept her tags on her dress (that was hidden) her first time to church.  Just incase we took it back....

Bike Riding

One of my absolute favorite things about our new area is the bike trail 1/4 mile up the road.  Jason was at the neighbor’s house a couple nights ago and was riding their very small bike with out training wheels.  I tried a couple of weeks ago to help him ride his bike but one fall and he was done.  I guess he just had to do it on his own.  Then he realized he could ride his bike.  Oh the freedom!  He has been out on that thing all day this week.  We have been loving Spring Break!  So Wednesday we packed up some snacks and water bottles and headed out!  I think mom needs a bike   On one of our breaks Alyssa had her Book of Mormon out and was “reading”.  Doesn’t she look so relaxed holding her bunny?  She seriously just cracks me up!  She even brought along her hand held mirror.  I guess she remembered all of the necessities.  You know, just in case we got stranded or something! Jenna was loving it too!  Sh...

Girls Weekend in Portland

Image
I find that I have a LOT of leverage on David when it comes to getting away these days!  He has NO ROOM for complaining if I leave for a few days!  HAHA!! I flew up to Portland to meet my mom, Alise and sister-in-law Heather.  We were sad to not have Trisha and Becky there but are hoping next year we all can go!  It was such a great break and fun, fun, fun!  Our plans were to shop, eat, shop, shop, get makeovers and SHOP some more!  We did want to get pedicures but found our shopping went to a new level and we weren’t ready to stop!  HAHA!! When I flew in we checked in to our hotel just down the road.  We had a couple of hours to kill before meeting up with my Grandpa Floyd and his wife Janie for dinner.  So we wasted no time.  We went to some shoe stores, IKEA, Ross and Maurices.   Aren’t they cute? After dinner at Red Robin!  We were all happy to eat!  We were starving.  It has been almost 2 years since see...

Cameron hits the double digits!

Image
A few months ago I mentioned to Cameron how big he was getting.  His response was “Mom I am only in the single digits!”  HAHA!!  Well, not anymore!  My first baby boy is 10!  I made the mistake , uh, well I showed Cameron a really cute idea I found on pinterest of an Angry Birds birthday party last fall.  The rest is history and that is where we went with all the planning.  I am not a huge birthday party thrower.  It is a lot of work and unwanted stress really!  But this just looked like so much fun I could not pass it up!  First I painted the balls with Angry Bird and Pig faces.  The kids LOVED seeing these things! There are SO MANY good ideas online of what to do at an Angry Birds Birthday Party.  I really had to pick and choose!  But this would most definitely be what NOT to do on the Birthday… What a mess!  Broken glass and cake everywhere!  I made two cake mixes.  This one was to be used as hills a...
